Then they unveil the ASM Un-ban feature, and wham, here I am again. I think this feature is quite useful, and as long as the worst offenders aren't allowed the oppurtunity to use this feature, I believe it's fair.
I think the major point between Darryl and Kyle is that D wants to see all members given the courtesy of a re-consideration of their ban if they were indeed having just a bad day, while Kyle, with this feature, is according that courtesy only to subscribers, based on the points that he believes all ASM's are overall excellent contributing forum members, have proven such with their annual monetary subscription, and thus are worthy of the courtesy.
While I can side with either party, D., you see that with their huge member base, it would be nigh on impossible to deal with each banned case individually, and that the ASM users are in general, a very small fraction of banned users, thus making it manageable for them to be dealt with. And Kyle, you see that just because a user donates a certain amount of money each year, they aren't necessarily good contributing forum members?
So yeah, I'm glad I could use this feature, and I think D and Kyle both bring up good points, and this discussion should continue, as I see that it could be very fruitful in staff-member relations, and could possibly lead to some improvements in the way banned accounts in general are handled, and the basic guidelines of the site.

Tesko, you make many valid points. I was commenting more on peoples criticism of the site staff, which in most cases I feel is unwarranted.
That being said, you are right in that we're not putting ASMs on a platform, merely affording them something that other people don't get, based on their dedication, rather than their merit.
It is flawed in that respect, but as you mentioned, this site is freaking huge. We don't have the manpower to make such things available to every user.
That being said, provided you aren't BOS, you are free to make a new account if you are perm banned and start over. Registration date isn't everything.

I agree with you here, there have been numerous staff members who I have found to be intelligent, fair, and excellent members.

Dementedpaintballer
Dementedpaintballer was indeed a BOS and has been rebanned regardless of his ASM membership.
Thanks for the heads up and we have now adjusted the ASM unban process to help with future unbans.
Thanks

The ignorance of the pbn community comes out yet again, How many times does someone have to say it.. The unbanning feature doesnt work for everyone, They arent going to unban you if you make a porn thread.. You cant go on a rampant wild flaming/trolling/spamming spree and expect to be unbanned.. I dont really know if its worth getting the ASM feature just for that because its not that hard to wait out a ban on a different username and live a few days without searching..

Well, I know that Dementedpaintballer is mad at me now, but he was one of the first cases of being "unbanned" yet was contradictory case to what the staff here was saying.
Just want to clarify that I have nothing personal against him, but I do know of the majority of his ban offences here and therefore was used as a valid argument.

Great idea Kyle, you should get promoted for that [Yeah, I know].
I would bet this will get the site a couple hundred extra memberships sold each year.

All around bad idea, I cant wait for another round of people to be screwed over in the BST forum because of people getting ahold of their shady accounts again.
You wanna make $ ? How bout you take advantage of the huge bst arena. I would suggest setting up a third party trade center. and if somone is willing to pay for 1 year, then they get 1 free third party secure* trade. you would have alot of traffic, but honestly it would only make the nation more reliable, and I know it would get my money. just a thought, yall can start flaming it now...enjoy.

What do you think all the mass bannings have been for but it's $30 a year for ASM or $12 for just supporting right?

This has got to be the most embarassing, disappointing, foolish decision ever made on this site. Now anyone with $30 can do whatever the ---- they want, and know that their mommy's money can get them unbanned. Now shiftycastro30 and chicag0warehouse can go about their flaming/trolling/spamming routine without fear of punishment.

im pretty sure flaming/spamming is the last thing that we need to worry about, people are gonna get raped by bst.
***NEW SUGGESTION!
MARK THERE name as PREVIOUSLY BANNED! They should have a tag, warning others, after 6 months no more tag....kind of a parole thing.
