PbNation Annual Supporting Member one-time unban

ASM membership now comes with a one-time unban feature.

PbNation has added a new feature to the PbNation Annual Supporting Membership (ASM) which now gives the current ASM member the ability to request a one-time reactivation of an ASM account that has been banned.

Send an email along with the banned ASM member user name using this link for a one-time reactivation of an ASM account.

This is a single use feature and only works once with each active ASM account. Users who are considered Ban-on-Sight, or have been caught perpetrating fraud, posting porn, or spam, will not be unbanned. The unban is not guaranteed nor is it automatic. Each unban is individually reviewed.

How will this effect becoming a moderator? If a supporting member gets banned and uses the un-ban ASM feature, will that count against him/her?

IMO this seems like an all around bad idea, but I guess it makes supporting memeber more tantalizing.

If you are banned, you're not a moderator, so it is a bit of a moot point.

Not really. We realize that people have bad days, and don't really want to lose their investment in the ASM. This is a one time get out of jail free card. If you mess up, you get one chance. If you are Boat, or some other habitual idiot, chances are that one ban isn't going to do much for you.

Perm bans as well. If someone really wants to pay to get themselves unbanned, and subsequently can actually behave themselves and not get banned again, wheres the harm?

It's not like people who get banned haven't come back on new accounts and managed to behave themselves.
