CAPTAIN MEETING: 7:15am GAME START 8:00am

Background: This tournament series is not and has never intended to be the PSP, NPPL, CFOA and so on. It has been around for 10 years, which for most of you who have been in the sport that long will know that is longer than any of those series. The tournaments are held in the central eastern United States and are ref'd by ACTS certified refs that are provided by the field owners. The only traveling ref is the 5-man Open head ref Pete. This Series was started to help players start in a series where they could learn the basics of tournament paintball and help promote the sport in a positive way to the public. The series uses modified NPPL rules with PSP ramping in the 5-man open and 3-man Novice. 3-man rookie is still semi-auto and is capped at 13.3BPS.

Me: My name is Jon Myers and I am a Coastal Breaker and a ref at Coastal Paintball. I am very close to the series and its owner Bambi Bullard. I can almost always answer any of the questions that you have about the series.

Rules: Hell there are none. None of you scare me, nor do any of your opinions. This series was here before most of you and will long surpass you so take your best shot.

Thank you for your time.

A 13 ball cap??? You do realize that alot of markers have a specific CFOA or PSP setting that is set to 15 bps and making one ramp to 13 bps could be an issue. How stupid is it to go with 13 bps? Is there some scientific reason for 13? Why not go with the industry standard that almost all software in every markers is set up for instead of making players try to accomodate a different setting than what is the norm because one series has decided that 13 bps is better than 15?? Once again the ACTS has come thru in the ignorant rule department with flying colors.

ok, I have raised the same issue with Bambi before I posted this. Yes I do know that there are settings specifically for a ramp with 15 ball cap. I was assured that there is a reason for this and that there was something coming down the pike about a 13 ball cap. If I find out the reson for this 13 ball cap I will post it as soon as I can.

Thanks, I am just concerned that you may lose some teams that would play this series because of such a rule. If you put alot of markers, such as an A1 in PSP to ramp, its going to be at 15 bps, and you cannot change that. If the rule was the standard that other leagues use, there would be no issue, and people would be more likely to attend.

That is what I have told her, but knowing Bambi the way I do if she says that something is coming down the pike and that is why she put it at a 13bps cap, with her connections I am sure the reason is valid.

She is most likely preparing for the rumored upcoming change in PSP rules concerning the change in ROF from 15 to 13. The rule change is not official from the PSP at the current time. See the PSP forum for more info.

On another note. I am sure WDP will release an update for your A1 board IF things change.

I have talked to Bambi and have confirmed that the reason the ACTS is going to 13 BPS is because the PSP is going to 13BPS.

The teams voted at the end of last year for ramping so we went with the new psp ramping rules. I will know tomorrow on how many 5 man teams and will post it then.

We are expected to have 12 5 man teams as of right now. Also there is a new rule change going into effect this year. From now one there is no more blind start rule.
