possible fogging problem solution

well, i've ben having problems with my lens fogging up, like everyone does at one point or another...

so i was at ACE hardware today, and noticed that they had painters fume masks, those ones with the elastic band that fits over your head and the mask covers your mouth and nose...

and so i bought one of the nicer ones that has a thicker padding/mesh and am going to wear it under my mask the next time i go out

the theory is that it will keep the heat and moisture from rising up into my lens area and fogging it up, i've been wearing it around the house with my mask for a lil while and i havent seen a bit of fog yet...i'll post the results later

yes, but my foam doesnt work well, and my lens is over 1/2 a year old and the thermal has come off...i'm getting new ones soon tho

but if they still are gay and annoying and all foggy, then this should work well to fix that...

i need to fix my foam on the top of my mask too, its coming loose

uh, thermal doesn't come off... thermal means that it has two lenses not some sort of special coating

Yeah, but on jt style lenses the second lense could come off. It's not on there all that solidly. You have to be really careful not to damage it.

i was playing today in very high wind conditions, the face mask did muffle my speach a bit, but i could still be heard and understood when i needed to be...

no fogging at all, but that was probably because of the wind, i'll have to try the fog test on a less windy day...

and also, since it was sooooo cold out the mask kept a nice abount of heat in when i was breathing so it kept my face warm, and it also served as a paint stopper so i didnt eat any gross paint...yuk...

so far so good, all that's left is the fog test, one mask lasted all day btw, just to let you know...

and in response to the lenses with coatings, it does say that the protective and thermal factory coatings can come off with even the slightest cleaning...and even using my Dye Invision with the double lens system it still fogs up pretty bad sometimes, hopefully this will stop it, and switching masks is not an oprion at this tim fir a few reasons 1)money 2)i like the comfort and 3)i have a new lens on the way for this mask and i wanna try that too...

ya back you could rub shampoo or you can spt in your lenses. When i used to scuba dive and snorkel you spit on your lenses wash them out and its supposed to stop fogging. i dont know if i would want to spit all over my mask though

spit works well to clean them off, but i've never heard of using it as an anti-fog solution...

ya we use to do it in scuba diving. i dont know if it would work that well on paintball masks cause scuba masks would make a tight seal on your face so i dont know if it would work on a paintball mask. Just a little suggestion i dont need it cause ive only fogged one mask and that was a v force rental mask other than that even without thermal lense i wouldnt fog.
