Played in the rain once. Turned off the hopper cause it's quite possible for the hoppers to get ruined.. so just turned the hopper off and played like that. Had to shoot slow, but it's all good I guess.

the only problem I had was my goggles fogging up... BRING SOME ANTI FOG SPRAY!!! I would reccomend you do not wear goggles with double lenses, since moisture collects in between the layers when it rains, and youre stuck... single lense, with spray... you'll be ok.

Your hopper will not be ruined so that leave that on. I've played more than one tournament when it was POURING rain, with an electronic marker even.

And rust? Umm.. well since your marker is made out aluminium, not Iron, then you don't need to worry about rust forming.

Some of the screw's/bolts maybe in your drop might be iron, not the body of your marker.

I only had two problems playing in the rain.
1. Pansies - Those who quit because they dont wanna get wet.
2. Water - In the barrel, screwed my balls all up. Couldnt shoot straight.

It rained All day at Cal Jam, it wasn't very fun. Paint goes everywhere. Your Hopper can stop working in the rain, but it wont be ruined, mine wouldnt start up about half way threw the day and Had to switch hoppers. Took the wet one apart afterwards and wiped the water off, it started right up. If you outdoor you might be sliping alot, to don't try and sprint right away, built up speed as you go.

Put some tape around the porting on your barrel.

What some people also do for their hoppers is keep a plastic bag over the majority of it.

Above all, keep your paint dry, if the balls get wet and swell up you're ****ed.

If you use an elbow, make sure that you put some tape along the edges of it.

I was playing in the rain once, in the woods, getting ready to ambush a guy. He was about 20 feet away and still didn't see me (rain helps with stealth it seems), I pull the trigger, BLAM just air, pump the gun again, BLAM just air. Look at my elbow and realised that in the time that I wasn't shooting rain had gotten in, swollen paintballs in the elbow, preventing anything from feeding.

Just keep your paint dry, put tape over holes in your barrel, be prepared for fogging goggles, and you should be fine.

Doesn't sound like you are playing in a tournament, but if it is a tournament, the bag over the hopper probably won't be allowed. (or shouldn't be, but it depends on the refs)

Rain in the Powerfeed/Elbow

Not sure if they have them at your local Pro-Shop but there is a cover that you can get that fits over the feed tube to keep rain and other stuff out. They sale for $3.00 here.

Pics wont load but you can check it out on my Level 10 Automag on my Homepage.

Your real concern is gona be your barrel, I played in a tourney here in my area not to long ago, it was raining off and on really hard then light but never stopped, only problems we had was Paint and Fogging...

Dont let the rain worry you, just on break out, Dont try to sprint hard because you will fall on your arse and look like a clown lol

Just my two pennies

In rain, should I be concerned about the electronics of my gun and hopper. Have there ever been any problems with these.

Oh and BTW firepro, Im not sure where victorville here but I can say that from the sattelite pictures that I have seen the rain clouds, in fact the only clouds, are about even with San Luis Obispo and nowhere near where I am. I am considering going this sunday so I'm in the same boat as you, and Im not quite sure whether to go or not due to the threat of rain.

I wouldn't worry about your hopper or gun too much. Unless the electronics are exposed.

But if you are worried, then at the end of the day it wouldn't hurt to open them up and make sure everything is dry, or dab off any condensation or whatever.

Unless you're playing in a hurricane or dunking your gun in the ocean, I don't think you'd have to worry THAT much. Just a lil bit of care and attention and you'll be fine.
