1. Once
2. It was in the woods and one of my teammates shot me, thinking I was an opponent. It was on the knee, so I just rubbed it in the dirt and pretended like it bounced.

1) Yes, but a couple were accidental.
2) We had a city game going, and if you got hit, you just had to tag your base to get back in. I didn't want to run all the way back to the base.

Yes, I've wiped.
My motive? I wanted to stay in the game. I just thought "It's just rec-ball" but I should have been more honest than that...

I think everyone has wiped at least once. I don't care who you are. Here is my reasoning behind what i am saying. When you have that day where you are playing against cheaters, I am not going to let them win by letting them wipe. If i know and can see my opponent wiping, then I am not going to snitch, I am going to fight fire with fire, whether that is bonus balling or wiping. There are going to be times where you know your opponent is wiping, and there is no ref around to do a paint check on the person you just hit.

Yes
Was in a woods-ball game and my own teammate walked right into my line of fire ( he was out) from behind a tree. I hit him in the face ( which dosent hurt) and he turned and unloaded half a hopper on me the ref said to wipe it and then threw the other guy out
Does that count¿?

That's "Eye for an eye" meaning if he cheats, you cheat. And you're no better than him. We all want to be the bigger man than the cheater right? Then why be him. To settle something?
Only way to regulate a cheater is bonus balling. And even the best players in the world will even agree that that is the best way to regulate in this sport.
Paintball has way too many cheaters in the game and we all just let them get away with it. In basketball, if you cheat, your *** is getting elbowed to the face. In baseball, if you're cheating somehow, you're getting cleated (it hurts more than you think). In football, haha, do I even need to go on?
What I'm saying is instead of becoming the cheater, why don't we punish them? Shooting 6-7 more paintballs as a "don't wipe again" punishment. They won't know it directly, but maybe after awhile, it will become a thing.
Don't wipe, regulate.

I think this is a subject that people are going to debate until the end of time.
You are right, that there are going to be cheaters, but I can handle knowing i got out because there was an ******* wiping and then got a lucky shot on me. let me try and paint a picture for you. lets say you an I are in a gun fight. I see that you are wiping after i hit you. Lets say there is a third party that hits me, I will walk off the field. Now instead, if you get a lucky shot on me, then i will wipe and try hand hit you again. I would try and bonus ball you, but that doesn't always work considering anytime someone gets hit, they hide behind cover so they can check whether the ball broke or not. If I am close enough i will probably shoot them within the 10' rule. Also, if i know there is a ref in the area, i will tell him to check the person i hit. But im not going down like a *****. That's just how i feel.

yes.....because I got shot in the back of the head when my hands were up and I was walking off the field.
also if you are in the right position, dont give them an oppertunity to wipe...I usually am nice and give you a 3 round burst....if you decide your a tuff guy and stay in, im just going to reflank you or bunker your *** on full auto point blank. so cheat with caution. sometimes its better to just call yourself out because I have seen noobs plenty of times get welted up for their ignorance

Had to shoot a "pro guy" 15 times today during an attack and defend game. He didn't know I was in the building, so I pegged him in the hopper. He looked at it, wiped it and just kept going. I shoot him again in the hopper and gun, same thing. I move up a little closer and put 10 all over him and a few on his buddy.

Wipe? A few times...typically it was off the break getting hit in the hand covering my mask just wipe it off as I slide in to my bunker. Havent done it in a while, used to do it when I was younger.
Why did I do it? No one likes getting shot off the break.

* Motive? Well, my motive for NOT wiping is that any hit is a hit. This game, at one time, had some honor in it. When people started justifying wiping, it pushed paintball back down the ugly road toward the old cops & robbers games of childhood - the days of "I shot you/No, I shot you/I shot you first!/No, I shot YOU first!". Have I had opportunities to wipe, or get away with cheating? Sure, but I'm not out there to break the most basic rule of the game.

I don't think I have ever seen someone quite this so full of themselves. You are the most annoying type of person to play with, the guy who wants to remind everyone of how great the game used to be, and how bad it is now, and how nobody today could ever deal with the hardships you faced, and paintball used to have honor blah blah blah. Seriously, the **** gets old.
Now, back to the question.
1. yes
2. I will sometimes wipe at recball fields when it's only woodsball and the games are running really slow. If I get shot out almost right after the game begins I don't want to wait an hour for the next game because some mindless tit got a lucky shot off. I don't really care whether I win or lose nor do I put much stock in how many people I get out, I just like to shoot at people.

1.No(I always check suspected hits)
2. Wiping is incredibly selfish. The only time I've even thought about wiping is if I'm playing against complete douchebags who do it all the time, but then I remind myself not to stoop to their level and just bonus ball the **** out of them until they finally walk off. It's absolutely no fun to play with people who wipe all the time. It's even worse if they consistently do it in rec play. You are playing for fun!

Our field rarely plays games where when your hit your out for the duration. Most times we play with a # of respawns or if it is objectives based, no respawn limit, so wiping doesn't really make sense. I have never wiped. I've called paint checks when I can't see an area, and I have played on and found out afterwards I was hit in the pack (didn't feel it). >shrugs<
