Thread Banns

my idea would be that thread starters could issue waht i call/invented "thread banns"

a thread ban is pretty self explanitory, a thread starter could issue somebody a thread bann if he/she feels harrased or bugged by that person, only a thread starter may issue a thread bann. not even mods

if u use my idea could i be a supporting member? w/ 2 free gold ups?

No, with the maturity level of PBN, it would be abused

True, but the maturity level is low. It is a great idea but i believe that it would get abused.

What about kicking people out of your feedback or bst threads because you've scammed them? What about kicking people out of a discussion thread simply because you don't agree with them?

I think it's a pretty bad idea, and it would be abused pretty heavily.

Q.F.T.

You just want this idea to be implemented so you can ban everyone who said they dont like you in the "Who on this site do you like/dislike" thread.

think of that in the opposite way, say u changed your minde to buy somebodys shocker, the that person gets mad and spams your feedback with false notes

yah but that person will still flame u in your post and ppl will still read that, and other ppl dont know that u ignored him so when they see u not come up with a come back they see u as a ***** for taking it. or u could just prevent them from posting, and only the banned person and the thread starter knows who was banned from where

That's not the way policy works. There's a lot of things that could be really handy around here, but in all likelihood the annoyance of having people abuse them would outweigh the helpfulness of the actual feature, so as a result they are not included.

There is already a modification for this out for vBulletin. It's not a "new" idea or whatnot, it is actually a commonly used practice on many forums, but as was said above me (they speak the truth) it would be grossly abused.

Uhh..Ban Users from Specific Threads?

There's no official title assigned to the hack (hacks = mods), because it's a personal modification to one's own board. On the admin's can apply it, and then only those specified to use it can use it.

Its a pretty lame idea. If the person isn't violating a rule or trolling, they have every right to be in your thread, seeing as you made it on a PUBLIC messageboard.

I can call them lame if they are, in fact, lame. This idea fits into that category quite nicely.

I would definitely agree. If you're just posting ideas to hopefully get an ASM, stop now. It's not going to happen.
