Playing Rollies

Im just wondering peoples thoughts on playing rollies. On your knees, one knee, on both feet? Play it close or back up a bit? i find that the rounded edge, sometimes it being overinflated, and it being relatively short make it one of the harder bunkers to play well IMO.

personally i try to put my knee on the inside of the side im shooting from and have my foot on the inside (if im shooting right my right knee is down and my left foot is planted on the ground) and i play close or farther back depending on who/what im shooting.

again im not asking the one best way to play it, just peoples opinions and how they play it.

I play them on both feet, squatted down. This has given me the advantage of going from side to side and the ability to shoot over the top. On occasion I kneel down to give myself s different view(only by a few inches). This is how I do it.

you can only play a rollie on both feet for a limited amount of time. it gets very hard after a while. i usually play on one knee, a little bit back from the bunker maybe about 3 feet away.

i use one knee and if im shooting back right or left i'll get up close to the bunker but if im shooting something else i usually am a few feet back. I use the top for about a second to look around a bit also

I don't have any problem playing both feet in a rollie, but it's due to training at home. At our practice field we have cans that we tip over to make rollies. These are even shorter than the rollies at the actual field we play at, so I have gotten used to staying low in them.

It's best on 2 feet or on your outside knee with your other foot on the ground (shooting right, right knee, left foot). Playing tight or loose all depends where you are and where they are.

mmm...I'll do two knees, or 1 knee. Never two feet though. I really don't think about my stance a whole lot, I just adapt to the bunker size.

i tend to stay on 2 feet if possible. and if possible i play back a bit, makes it easier fro me to get a veiw of the feild and whatnot. but then again the only time ive played a rollie was about 2 weeks ago at a local feild. it was on about the 30, so not a hard bunker to get to and not a whole lot of pressure due to a large 50 bunker in front of it, so i was able to play on my feet and back a bit, most of the time. if it was getting more fire on it, i may have moved up and got down on one or both knees.

Power stance if it's near the middle of the field and I need to play both sides and over the top. If it's to the side and i need to stay posted down the tape (or something similar) I play with my outside knee down and my inside knee up.

i play rollies with my outside knee on the ground and my inside leg up. but i prefer to move all around in them and pop up over the top alot to keep things intresting and the guys guessing, just remember to pop out quickly as rollies are hard to play.

my local feild has the left and right back positions as rollies on both sides of the field and its so gay how it is. because of it the back players are usually pinned down and can't do there jobs alot of times becuase the other team has good angels on them, especially when the opposing team sends a guy to the 50 at opposite side of the field you are, if you're in one of those rollies you now have limited movement and have to stay as tight as you can to the other side of the rollie after that. it ****s the game right up but if it was a can or a standy it would be alot easier to play.
