Etek 4 Inconsistant fps
I was chronoing my gun the other day and it was so inconsistant. I have all the settings stock besides my shooting mode. I have a pooty mod bolt in it and the first few shots were about 270-280, then it peaked 300, then 260, then around 270 again. I dont know if I should adjust the lpr but I dont wanna blow a chrono in a tourney and get penalties. what should I do

I was using the stock barrel, i didnt get my barrel kit yet, and it was empire premium paint. Apparently it was super small, it was fitting through my friends .681 with ease. I hope thats the reason.

premium runs a bit on the small side. i think the stock barrel is .693 or .689 either way it is going to be an overbore. how many shots through the marker? if it is newish or has under 10 cases through it...it will get smoother and more consistent with time and breaking in. the best thing for an eclipse marker is paint, paint and more paint!

As Tony said, it is probably down to the bore sizes with the bore of the barrel being .693 and as you said, the paint was rolling through a .681.
Get it matched or slightly underbored and you will see it shoot a lot better.
I assume you haven't fiddled with the dwell or LPR?

Well if dwell and lpr are stock, the battery is a fresh, high quality Duracell etc and not a cheapo one then it is deffo the barrel bore
So wait for you barrel kit, or borrow some ones to test

It's not broken in? That's the problem. The overboring wouldn't cause inconsistency. It will break in within 4-10 cases. I saw the biggest increase at 4 cases, and it settled in from there. If you can't wait, raise your lpr 1 full turn and increase your dwell to 11ms. You can run that till you've got quite a few cases through it, then tune for desired performance.
If that doesn't work, come back. You could have just gotten a bad batch of paint.
