Any etech5 issues or concerns?

I am upgrading from a GOG Extcy and I am down to Axe or Etech5. I am leaning heavily to the etech5 but I have not found any issues that the marker might have. I was not too informed about the GOG and to where it felt good the issues with it brought me to hate it. If you would please let me know any issues yof have had with the etech5.

Thanks

I picked up the Etek5 after dealing with a problem marker myself. I regret nothing. The marker has been 100% reliable. All I've done is clean off paint and lube the bolt and rammer.

There's one other Etek5 user at the field I play and he too hasn't had any issues.

No problems with mine either after two months of using it every weekend. The asa was slightly loose the first day of play but i tightened that up no biggie

No issues with mine either, I just had to tighten the ASA and that's it.

Thank you for the information. I just do not want to get stuck again where I play half a day and then have to get a rental due to a design flaw.

The marker feels great but nobody at our parks has one that I know of so shooting one is not an option. My big hands fit the etech5 so nicely I would be massively disappointed to jump up in money spent to have a brick like I do right now.

Obviously I am biased because I designed it but the Etek has always been and will always be our workhorse marker. We have so few issues with Etek's, it's insane. They are as bulletproof as you can get in paintball right now.

But, if anything did go wrong with it (we aren't all blessed with being perfect, after all) I hope you can feel reassured that we will do everything we can to make sure that you are back up and running as quickly as possible, with minimal fuss and that we will do whatever we can to make sure it doesn't happen a second time!

Thank you Jack! That is reassuring and I have heard good things about the PE warranty and good custom service.

Honestly, besides feel that is why it was down to the Etech5 and the Axe. They both feel good and the companies have reliable and good customer service.

Again thanks.

Jack,

Quick question on the etek 5: what was the rationale for designing the asa mounting to be proprietary to the platform as opposed to compatible with every other etek/ego? You can't currently put your own POPS system on an etek 5.

Hi,

We always had a lot of issues in production (not in the field) with the molded-in T-slot rail into the Etek3/4 frame. We got a LOT of rejects from that process. So we had to change it. We wanted to get away from having a molded-in block. So we came up with the new way we have on the Etek5.

I know you currently can't mount a POPS on there, but we have a rail in testing that will allow a POPS or any other ASA with the T-Slot configuration to be mounted to the Etek5.

You can expect this ASA fitment to become the new standard on our models with composit frames.

The only thing I have noticed with mine that is slightly less than perfect is my grips seem like a part of it is stretched where it isnt quite sitting snug on the frame so you can see some of the wires when looking from the back. May have done it myself when taking the grips off but unfortunately cannot find any spare or even aftermarket grips to buy for it just yet.

Other than this minor nitpick this thing is unbelievable

I have had it for going on 3 months now. I just recently got back into paintball and did allot of research on guns. I grew up on Autocockers mostly and angels. 99-01. Anyhow seemed like the most affordable gun aside of an axe pro that could shoot tourney style in comparison to the high end guns. Let me start on saying I love this gun! Its amazing! Couldn't have picked a better gun to start off in the paintball game again. My first electric gun experience as I never owned an angel only shot my friends who could afford it back then. I just joined a team with mostly LV1's and I can keep up with these guys just fine. I don't care so much about the 15 ball cap. It is really a novelty to go any higher in my opinion. This gun feels great in the hands too which I can understand why people love lv1's so much. It shoots pretty dam close to an lv1. Without owning one myself I can say I probably wouldn't notice. Its also pretty easy to do maintenance on and clean. I wanted an etek cause everyone that got me into all were about the axe pro's but I am really glad I decided to be the rebel and go for this particular etek model.

I really want to thank everyone for the input. I just put the down payment on the etech5. Getting the forest green.

I'll have it in 3 weeks and as soon as I get some paint through it I'll let you all know how it goes.

Again thanks

Just got my own Etek 5 three weeks ago. Really impressed! It's my first paintball marker

The only issue I've had is that the ASA was loose my first time out after a couple rounds.

No.

The bolt body is interchangeable but the pin is not.

The LV1 has a shorter pin because the rammer bore is higher in the LV1 due to the lever valve.

Jack
What about the etek 5 and prior egos (11, 10, etc.)? All the etek specific pins I've found online specify the etek 1-4 but don't list the 5.
