BST E-Markers, add subforums

I think dividing up the forums into subforums would only be for the benefit.

Say you want to buy a DM5. You can go to e-markers and scroll through pages and pages of markers searching for the word dm5, or run a search with the word 'dm5' in the title.

With subforums, you would just click e-markers->dye->dm5.

The same could be done with aftermarket parts, so they'd be much easier to find. It seem like that would cut down on the search bandwidth.

And what if you're looking for one of a range of guns? Should you have to go through each particular model you want individually?

I think it would be better to have a price range forum, not one for each individual gun.

Pump Scout is BST Legit
All the divisions in the world would be great... assuming we could get anyone to use them correctly. As it stands, some people can't even figure out whether to post their gun in Electronic or Non-Electronic.

Search function works pretty good for weeding out the stuff you don't want in BST.

Sounds like the logical thing to do. You want a DM5 and a WGP E-Orracle. You'd find the DM5 under DYE and the Orracle under WGP. The alternative is searching for 'orracle dm5', searching for titles only. The search would still work pretty good, but it'd still pull up things like 'wtt for dm5'. The subforums would cut down on searching, which seems more intensive than clicking straight to your page.

It might. But what if the mods had a view (or everyone) that was the same as the current view? They could see all the threads from all the subforums on one page, so the hardest it could be would be as hard as it is now.

What about it? It would be allowed still... you just sell the guns under the appropriate threads. You'd have multiple shorter threads vs. one long one. THere could even be a 'SOLD' button that would lock the thread I guess.

That could work too. I guess I have this whole bst thing invisioned. Have all the guns in this database. When you create your ad, you have to supply a few things. Marker name, color, condition, trades?, sell?, part-out?, price, OBO?. Of course you could still write your post up and list upgrades and whatever else. I think it'd help b/c lots of people don't even include basic information when selling stuff.

The subforum stuff may not have an advantage, but it seems like with the growing number of bst posts, subforums would spread the load out so posts aren't flying down the page after 20 seconds.

Here's the thought process of a large majority of BST'ers.

"I want to trade my shocker for a dm5, thus I will post it in the dm5 section"

Combine that with the sheer volume of threads and posts and amount of people browsing, and it will be near impossible to moderate. Keeping it as simple as possible for the stupid is a much better system.
