HD2 motor gives more torque and speed.

hey thaks for the info i searched for a site but could not find anyone that carried them

n$$balla

hey thats not a bad idea for the front page. someone could put toghter a comparasion vid that shows halo's running with stock, hd2 motors and even the pr mod. just to let people know what they are capable of since no one seems to read the charts that state exactly what they can do.

Not according to the Spec sheets for the HD2 and the stock one. Power dash is better IMO anyways.

spec sheets always lie to u. they prolly didnt apply the same amount of voltage or amps...spec sheets are made for a sales tactics

ever see engine oil commercials where they compare conventional oil to synthetic.

well conventional oil in no way compairs to synthetic in any way or form. any type of synthetic engine oil will always be better than conventional oil.

Under 2.4v with 1.6A and NiCd batts, spec sheets dont lie. . .

And i dont know why Tamiya would try and make itself look bad when the HD2 costs more than a better performing motor

I have a question about the "MY BATTERIES ARE DEAD MOD", can you use a SPST micromini toggle switch? or does it have to be DPDT, and does anyone have a pic of how it should look like inside when its done? thanks.

cakewalkpyro - yea thats your best bet.

mtbrdude - if you send me your halo it will be about $8 in shipping + the $5 motor but if you just send me the harness i will but the motor on and send it back for $8 PM me so I can get back to you.

DyePrecision - what? your wrong the stock motor is nothjing to compair to. The stock motor is quite a bit slower and less powerful thus it causes jams and will burn out faster. If you go and buy a motor bulit for speed and power you will get better preformence and an all around better halo.

N$$balla - I have nothing to do tomorrow so ill whip one together for you. I think I have some speed metal to go with it to.

koolaidman - That rule applys in gear ratios but not motor (unless its a servo) the way to get more speed and power from a motor is better windings, better magnets and better brushes. If you have cheap windings, cheap magnets and cheap brushes then your will have a slower less powerful motor. Witch is why I make my own motors from the best parts

CanfieldOO7 - you are correct now that I have been messing with then the PD's are better and stronger then the HD2's

koolaidman - dude I made that spec sheet so please tell me what am I selling?? you cant tell me that the HD2 motor is not a vast improovment over the stock motor?

htgy - lol you can use any switch you see fit I just heppend to use that one.

i have no problem with it. xmod is awesome... i also wanted to post a vid on it together with the speed wheel and staple mod (laxhawk). im still testing it since with the staple mod gets the board really hot but in 3-5 seconds rest it cools down really quick. i have been running it with the bone pack, and i did a 5 full one minute run and so far had to problems with it.
also with the staple mod the blinks red and green really slow. but its running normal as far as the motor spinning (really fast). im not sure if that is normal, with the blinking red and green? when it blinks green it spins faster than when it blinks red. i wanted to show a vid but i not sure how to do it.
though it wasnt like a 10+ bps increase like they said. but its damn fast. my next test will be with the paint. i just hope i didnt create a blender.

i ran out of battery power last nite during my test. i guess with 1k ohm resistor its fine for the staple mod, but the board does heat up though. there is only little difference on staple mod together with the xmod and with out the staple mod. xmod is fast but add the staple and youll kick it up some more. my next test will be with a marker. i hope i get my marker from predator next week.

just did the xmod stage 2 mod. had a hellacious time getting the gear of the halo motor. once it was off it was easy sailing from there. gonna go wake up the neighbors real quick.

over my old dying motor it is a definite upgrade. the old motor couldn't get it up over 10bps. now its shooting like it should and the torque is there when it goes to spin. go for it you wont be disappointed.

you can even see a difference in how fast the motors spin with no load. this was my first indication that this was really gonna be worth the time and money. took me about an 1.5 to 2 hours making sure i did everything right.
