it's pre-loaded once already. i tried spinning it twice to pre-load it and it jammed even worse.
and i corrected your spelling in my quote.

Here is a picture of the problem.
See the paintball jammed against the spring? i pushed down on it lightly to simulate a full hopper of paint. it's sitting RIGHT on top of the paddle for the drive cone, inbetween 2 sets of balls... i think this is what's happening when the hopper's full. the only way to unjam it is to shake the hopper.
Does anyone have any ideas of simple mods that would prevent the balls from getting stuck in that little gap?
Edit: Taking the spring out doesn't help.

the paint looks a little fat like it might be too warm also you can stretch out the spring a little i mena just a tiny bit not too much cuz it can mess the whole thing up try different paint and stretch out the spring a tiny bit

or maybe a different drive cone prefrebally the Shocktech hot rod kit this drive cone is better for you because there is only 3 paddles and less of a chance it will get stuck

it already came with the new S4 drive cone... would sanding down the very tips of the drive cone help?
do you know where to get JUST the sdrive cone and not the whole hot rod kit? i don't wanna spend fricken 44 USD on a brand new hopper

well first i would try different paint if that doesnt work then dont sand it down file it and if that doesnt work then i think you can just buy the drive cone on that site but iff not then you can get it on google or froogle personally i would suggest thw whole hot rod kit because it cones with the longer anti-jam spring which will help your problem but iff not then just try the above

I just put a woodscrew in the hole where the antijam rod used to be, then glued it and put some heatshrink tubing over it, so that it wouldn't cut the paint accidentaly. It works great, I dont think my halo has ever worked as good.

ya that might fix my problem.. i bent the spring downwards a little so that the balls can't get stuck underneath like you saw in my pic. seems to be a little better... but i still get occasional jamming.

I kinda had this problem that you're having, and it was due to ****ty paint. The paint was so ****ty that it likes to stick to other balls and cause jams. So i'd say try different paint first.

Well reballs are known to jam halos. If it isnt the balls...could it be the motor? I had a bad motor that would spin at all once. But i just payed m_dogg $10 and he installed a HD2 motor for me. Shipped back very fast too. Took like 1 week total.
And i also have a question.
During drop tests, my Halo drops in bursts. Does this happen when on gun? Would it affect my BPS? HD2 motor installed also. Delrin cone.

okay.. i ordered the shocktech spring for a few bucks. I'll also try different paint next time. this is supposed to be "low-mid" range quality. XO Spectrum. it's field paint only where i play, so i've got verry limited choices.
btw- i'm quite happy with my new camera

Curious, do you have a speed wheel installed? If so, that could be the problem as it messes with the load and torque on the motor causing it to jam more. Try removing it and see if it helps.

der51106 - the bolt size is #4 -40 TPI and I think its 1 1/2" but Gl finding a screw that long in #4 40 you have to order them form mcmaster-carr at mcmaster.com
cakewalkpyro - k well it ony happens when you reload right? like if the cone is still spinning or you ran the halo dry? Cuz the way I deal with this is just use the blue botton mod. and as for the 9V mod question I owuldint do that just because it would hurt more then help.
DyePrecision - OMG are you seirus? Batteries have a huge part in a halo. If you run crappy batteries your preformence will just go to ****. When you run a bone pack it would own 6aa's of any kind and run much faster then most. Now why do you think the batteries would have a big role in making your halo run better?
prem205 - lol glad to see your loveing your motor. and yes IDK why the HD2 dorps in bursts but on gun it will be very consistent.
mtbrdude - You my friend have a weak motor. How long have you had your halo and did you get it used? At the end of motors life's they start to slow down and lose torque, thus jamming with no tomorrow. What I would do is buy an HD2 mtoro or just buy a new stock motor.

Yup, loving the HD2 motor. Just need a battery pack now. Probably gonna get the BONE when i get enough.
And to mtbrdude, a HD2 motor that m-dogg does is the same price as a new stock motor. Just thought i'd let you know.
