I know this is a dumb-*** Newbie Question- wanna make something of it?

Gonna play htis weekend- no place to shoot in the suburbs to experiment with this-

Can the Air assist tube be placed into the side/front/back of a plain Hopper to agitate the paintballs ? I was wondering if this was a possible alternative to using a motorized hopper?
I'm not cheap- just trying to keep things simple.

BTW- I'm new but not too stupid- don't make up stuff just to see if I'll do it!

Thanks in Advance.

I wouldn't think that the small gas charge coming out of your air assist would be powerful enough to actually agitate a hopper full of balls. Try it and see, let us know.........

in my experience it doesn't work....it might work with a few balls but at that point they don't usually need agitated....but with a full hopper i didn't notice on bit of help

Its not a dumb question
When the shocker first came out (1ST generation)
You could get a hopper that the air assit would move the balls around . It worked fine with the slow firing rate of the first generation. 7-8bps it would not keep up to the higher rates of fire
I would just continue to use it as an air assit

Actually it's already been done. THey call this air agitation instead of air assist. You can read more about it on The Smoking Nun.

yah it works
i have done it just messing around though i have a revy and an egg
you just have to put it n the right place
if you put it to close to the hole it wont let em feed but if you put it to far away it dosnt do hardly n e thing.
put it about an inch away from the feed tube
by the way it still isnt as good as a revvy

Thanks to All-

Lotta good advice here!

I was half expecting to hear one o' youse guys suggest something like "you can get the best ball agitation by putting a Gerbil in yer hopper".

Hmmm- now that I've said that out loud...

I really like the straight feed kit. Interesting!
