icd-owners.com is borked.

Yeah, I know.

The hosting company is being stupid.

Another user on the same server as us got hacked.. the hacker used a php include directive exploit to generate the weird stuff we were seeing.. and the hosting company, in its infinite (lack of) wisdom decided to move us to another server rather than just fix the problem.

net result, we're looking at maybe a day's worth of downtime until the DNS resolution catches up with the hardware change.

I saw that too, that freaked me out.

That is crazy, do you still have it all backed up or do you have to create a whole new forum and everything?

Let me know, I an temporarily host it until it gets back up.... I was wanting to make a great post in the Tinkerers forum!

Yeah, what's even freakier is... *I* can still see it!

And yeah, I backup like a mofo now, I try to get at least once a month, and if I can swing it, once a week

Not sure how long the site will be down; if it's not back up for everyone by the end of today, I'm gonna go yammer at the hosting provider again.

You may certainly suggest it.

Unfortunately, most tech support is barely more educated than the average chimp.

I think it's back online; I saw it die here and now it's back online for me.

Can anyone else see it?

this is BS. sure i'm 16, but when i ran my webhosting company last year, we never dealt with such a problem in this fashion, idk if icd-o already has it, but if you don't i'd suggest to get nukesentiel installed

I think you mean NukeSentinel.. and.. NO! That would mean going back to phpPuke. Worst piece of crap I've seen yet for content management.

And.. Harb.. nah, this is different than the last time. this time, someone ELSE on the server got hacked... once they had root, they nailed the box with a php exploit that caused silly inserts.. that's why everyone was seeing all the funky virus stuff.
