Browsers.

So, i'm currentlu usuing Firefox and have been for quite some time, but lately it's just been running like ***, and I'm sick of it. I'm also not fully impressed with Opera, but it's a god browser. Does anybody have any other browsers they recommend?

Dake,

Give NetCaptor a shot.

You could try

1) Mozilla's other suite (not Firefox).

2) Netscape Navigator.

3) IE (I'd bet you've already ruled this one out, though).

What are the limitations that they put on the free version of NetCaptor?

The major thing is a small text advertisement bar on the top, like Opera used to have.

I like it....

It's got tabs.

Quick snap....

It lets you browse your computer (like windows explorer)...this is a biggie: IE lets you browse the internet and your hard drive from the same app...FF can't. But 'Captor does....except it says "Interface not supported" everytime you navigate...I'm guessing that goes away if you buy it....

Anyway...nice browser.

Oh...one prob: I just locked it up twice trying to watch a vid on putfile.... strange...prolly not the browser's fault.

kk...just played the vid on Captor...works fine.

Very nice browser. I'll be playing with this one some more.

porn watchers beware: it opens the last page you visited by default.

cool feature for the rest of us.

lol.

EDIT
And...I like the download interface better than FF.

So you can't set a homepage?

You can disable that feature. You can set a homepage, but you can also have a completely different page than your homepage come up every time you open the browser. For example, my homepage is my Google IG page, but NetCaptor opens to a blank page for me.

Yes...these are only defaults.

It's very customizable....

I like how "Home Page" doesn't mean, "Page I open to"

As was recommended to me in "I love this browser" I also downloaded Opera.

Very nice. I'll be playin' w/ it too.

It's gonna be a close call now again between FF, Opera, and 'Captor....

'Captor does have a mark against it though: the "free vs. pro" business.

But...it does browse my file system...which is great. Does Opera do that? (tries w/ Opera....) yes. Can browse file system...not like explorer...but like I'm looking at an FTP server. Opera also makes a valiant attempt to open files. It successfully played an .mp3 w/ an apple plugin. But it won't browse my network (using the \\host in the address bar), like both IE and 'Captor.

Anyway...good browsers.

It owns the market...that's for sure.

But...IE market share is/has been on a decline.

They'll prolly get sum ups as soon as Vista/IE7 (finally) comes out.

We're slated for (counts on fingers: early 2006, then October, November, December, January of 07, February, March...) March of 2007.

Gotta luv M$.

A lot of suggestions have been for NetCaptor (I've never even heard of it...), but if that doesn't have what you want check out Maxthon. Previously called MyIE2, but still same great browser IMO.

have you ever thought to investigate why your firefox has descreased in performance? No browser tops Firefox and it's plug-in library.
