Flashlight

Mabye in the wrong forum I apologize if it is. I do work in a lot of dark areas, and it's mostly demolition and dirty stuff, so I typically use a 2 D cell maglight, do to it's reasonable brightness and the fact that it's pretty rugged. However I'm not too happy with the brightness anymore, and was wondering if the tech wizzes knew of anything that was as rugged as a mag, yet brighter then the light you walk towards when your about to die.

Thanks
Mike

anyone else read "Fleshlight" instead?

Anywho... I saw at samsclub they had a 12 million candle light power handheld spotlight for sale. It was only like $30 too. I turned it on in the store and even in the bright store it still created a visible beam of light.

I'll suggest one of these too..

Just a wee bit bigger then I was looking for.

I'm talking hopefully the same size as my 2 d mag.

Man you must try a SureFire. My friend has a Special Force U2 Ultra and it is extremely rugged and has an intense light to it. Of course they run over $200 i think. They have other lights.

Check them out.
www.surefire.com

EDIT: just checked their website out, and they even have a comparison of one against a MAG. Trust me when i say these things can get hit by a train and still work. I was shocked at how durable they are.

LED lights don't give off enough light I find. The bulb ones tend to illuminate more whereas the LED shines more to one spot. (I'm basing this off small ones, maybe big ones are better)

I think that might be the one I'm looking for. Anyone know the lumens of a 2D mag light? I wanna make sure this is brighter, I'm looking for a significant increase of brightness, but it doesn't look like I'll get it w/o breaking the bank haha.

EDIT: Lol, I googled it, they don't list the lumens on the site I'm at, but they list the 3D, which is only 23 Lumens, so the 2D must be lower. I think that might be it, it's a decent price, bright and rugged so it seems.

Thanks!

For the price, INova is better.. Especially than that sharper image one... The sharper image one- 65 lumens for 50
the INOVA one - 83 lumens for IDK how much

A few months ago WIRED did a review of like 4 flashlights and ranked them. I'll have to find the model #'s and their rankings in that issue for you.

Sorry, I wasn't ignoring you, actually I saw a couple of the prices on there and was detered, I thought all they sold was 200+ dollar flashlights, which is a little much for me. I'm taking a closer look now.
