I know that on some complex HTML, FF hickups, and can take longer (like you said: pictures, for example).

But, in my experience, FF has a quicker snap.

And it's download interface gets in done quicker, too, it seems.

But...that's just me.... There's no official standard, and it varies box to box, user to user.

Just downloaded Opera, and I think I'ml liking it better than FF, but time will tell for certain. Seems to be running a little faster than FF and I like the general look and feel better.

I used Firefox for about 2 years and now I've been using opera for a while. It's my favorite.
If you play around with both browsers for a while you'll find overall Opera has a lot more features and is more customizable.

I had too many problems with Firefox losing my profile. For some reason I would turnon my laptop and all of a sudden my profile was gone. I switched to IE and recently ddownloaded the Beta and I love it. It's turly whatever works for you that's the best browser.

Sorry, but, there is a reason that pretty much every tech pundit uses and recommends Firefox and Opera over Internet Explorer.
