lube the tank reg?

I was wondering how often (or IF) I need to lube my crossfire tank's regulator.

If it should be done, would it just be cleaned and lubed like any other regulator (such as the hpr)? I've been using the tank for a few years and I'm sure its dirty as **** in there.

Thanks.

If its been working fine, dont mess with it.

Oil and HPA regs DO NOT MIX!!!

If anything...grease the O-ring at the base of the fill nipple...but as before, if its working fine , let it be!

a) I would rather not wait until it breaks to fix it. It's working good as far as I know, but maybe it could work better if serviced (more consistent). I don't break things when I work on them... unlike most people...

b)I know, the oil would blow off after not much shooting and need to be lubed again very soon. I have 55, 33, and Type-O Positive (slippery red stuff) grease. I would probably use the 33 since 55 might swell up the o-ring and the red stuff is too thin to stay in place for a long time.

c) the fill nipple is something I won't mess with until it leaks.

Never use oil!!!!!!!!!!!!! Many of the oils have flash (ignition) temperatures. There have been several that have caught fire.
There is no need to lube your reg. We have done some maintenance on regs that are over 6 years old and all of them have been lubed just fine.
If you have put oil in the valve send it to us to clean out for free please.

Alright, thanks Chris. I didn't know about the flash point thing, but I would have never put oil in it anyway.
