I feel embarrassed to ask this, but what is a burst disk? What does it do, Where is it, and what's it look like. I know it's in the regulator, but i've never taken mine apart. (that's a whole different challenge)

The burst disk is the little copper, hex shaped thing sticking out of the side of your tank reg. Some regs have two, a LP and a HP. When the pressure is too great, or the reg gets messed up, they blow and let the air leak out instead of your reg just blowing, which can be very dangerous.
