How many of you watch the UAPL regularly?
Along with NPPL on ESPN, I watch the UAPL regularly too. It's on every saturday at 6:00et on Superstation WGN. For those of you who don't know what UAPL (Ultimate Arena Paintball League) is part of the WPL (World Paintball League). It is basically 3man tournaments on small/arena fields. IT is very cool to watch because most games last about 2 minutes or less. What are your thoughts on the UAPL?

Every Sunday at midnight here, unless I'm drop-dead tired, and forget to run a tape.
As for my thoughts on the league and the format... I think it's a great show for people who are coming up in 3-man teams. I think it's an interesting way to present paintball as a speed-based game, as opposed to the NPPL shows on ESPN2. I also think it's very likely that some outside sponsors may be more able to make an impact in a series like this, just because it doesn't (or shouldn't) require as much funding to make it happen.

I have been watching almost weekly, though it has become rather dull in the last month or so due to lack of the run thrus that we saw the first two weeks of the show. Everyone has developed the same strategy and has become rather redundant. UAPL needs a new field setup

I live in Las Vegas where it was filmed, so I got to see them all live as well. The live presentation was a little disorganized, but the TV version is great. It's by far the best representation paintball has had on TV thus far. The field is small, so the action is easy to cover, the teams are small, so players are easy to keep track of, the games are fast, so the pace is exciting, and the production is good, so it may attract more outside sponsorship. This is a good format for people who don't play paintball, or wouldn't ordinarily be watching paintball, because it's very simple to understand (best of 7 game format with points only being awarded for flag hangs), and fast-paced, so it's fun to watch even for people not involved in the industry. Thusly, advertisers may be interested in putting some revenue dollars into it.

I TiVo it regularly and it's fine given the overall lack up TV support for paintball. So yeah, except for the NPPL series on ESPN, it's better than nothing. Otherwise, the production quality is not the greatest and the field lacks proper "full field" camera shots.
... and can that intro announcer woman PLEASE stand up correctly. That whole crooked, "trying the make herself look sexy" posture is REALLY freaking annoying.
And as a general comment to Matty Marshal, on both UAPL and NPPL/ESPN2, I like your color, and respect you as a player and a sportcaster, but listen...
...not everyone that gets shot out is being "too greedy". Try other things like, "he's too slow" or "he's too over-confident" or "what's that special-ED reject doing hanging out of his bunker like that?"
That's my $0.03

it seems that since the week before they took away the 6 pm est showing & just started to run the 1 am est, it's gone downhill.
first off, todd martinez needs to shut up & they need to put someone in place of him...i know he's trying to wait out his ban from the psp...but man, he sucks as a commentator.
next, whoever wanted to put in that floating camera guy should be fired. what's the point in having that camera on the field if the dude can't keep it somewhat steady...same with the interviews....i realize they want to show the sponsors, but c'mon...zoom in...zoom out....zoom in...zoom out....they don't want to concentrate on the content anymore.
and finally...why are they cutting out some of the games? if i were one of the teams or the team sponsors, i'd be incredibly pissed that my team was cut out. they should be showing all the games (not necessarily all the points...but atleast all the games).
oh, one more thing...would it kill them to put some sort of graphic on the screen to show how many guys are alive per side? i know my wife has trouble remembering how many are left on each team...and she's somewhat of a noobie...it would just help to follow.
granted, i do enjoy watching the uapl...although, i think that espn kinda spoiled it for me
now, when does someone put x-ball on tv....i'm all over that

team mates and I are gonna do a road trip to Vegas for some top gun action and along the way stop at a few different states and play the fields and maybe get lucky to play a tourney too. I love the small field make for a fast action game and even better wide world of sports hi light plays. gotta love 2 min. games

I watch it most the time. The west coast is the best division to watch. I don't watch the central division at all.
