Most times yes.

It is about time people start taking responsibility for themselves and stop trying to blame everyone else.

Yes I did.

So the flip side of said coin is that all good things that happen to me are my fault as well.

I would hope that you take some credit for the goods things that happen in your life. Most people work hard for "good" things to happen.

Good or bad, I take responsibility.
Its interesting how some folks blame every bad or negative aspect of their lives on someone or something else, but take all the credit when something good happens to them.

There's a freudian psycological study that pertains to the generality of your post I believe.

Because thats all people want to hear, and thats what makes them the most money.

One of the few times I can agree with you

Media loves bad news, it sells! They never bother to report how many free aide clinics and schools are opened in Iraq. And who cares if Iraqi women are no longer the guest of dishonor at the rape rooms.

Yeah, media clowns!

Good post Scum

I am quite amazed that so many think that CNN is more truthful than the Pentagon. I bet those are the same people that think 9/11 was a conspiracy, and the "loose change" video was well thought out.

We have had the world's best military fighting a technologically inferior force which was not even in power when we got there... I damn well hope we are starting to get control.

We have been winning this war since it started. This war has been about adapting to the tactics of the enemy. After we won the innitial conventional war, the insurgency started, then our soldiers went from being conventional forces to counter-insurgency occupying forces. Then it stopped being a real insurgency and they started to use alot of IED's. All we can do to counter that is provide more armor for our vehicles and soldiers (without over encumbering them), target the bomb makers, and target the stock piles of explosives. We also have a big problem with snipers which is also a problem where there is not much we can do. In order to fix that we just need our soldiers to be always alert, provide them with armor, possibly get more choppers in the air to intimidate snipers, and easily engage them when called in.

Wouldn't more choppers in the air give snipers more targets?

How hard would it be to shoot at a helo without them seeing you?

Why does it spell "Mujahedeen" incorrectly...besides the fact that the Mujahedeen are Afgani/Bosnia/Pakistan based, with traditional Saudi-backing?

There are several "Mujahedeen" groups actually; Khelq, Kompak, MEK, etc...and they are not only based in those countries. You can find groups of Mujahedeen that originiate in Iraq, Iran, Palestine, Indonesia, pretty much across the Muslim world. The basic term "Mujahedeen" just means "holy warrior".

Inshallah, my brothers

depending on strategic advantage, we can probably see them before vice versa. I do not know if they have stingers, or more advanced shouldermounted missiles but most likely the older, surplus ones cannot lock onto a heat signature.

If you are talking about just one guy with a high power rifle (7.62x54R or greater), pretty damn hard. Figure a target moving at 80 knots, 500 meters away and the your weapon will only effect the helo if it is hit in a few small key points.
