I'm having problems choosing between a Defiant and a Timmy

Hello, I have once again ran into a problem, I can not decide if I should go with the Defiant or Timmy. I have shot both guns, and I like both of them and they are both comfortable guns to me, so thats not a problem, the only thing is i didnt get to check the accuracy or distance with each gun. I am a back player, and i need a gun with great accurracy and really good distance. I was wondering if you can tell me what would be the better buy, no worry about the cost or anything, and I do relize they timmys are alittle bit big, but as a back player thats not really a problem, i just want to know what gun is ideal for a back player, or if both are.

Thanx for helping me who ever responds.

Vern1 helped look for balloons
Greetings,
I have and play with both.
For a back player, I have one word: ACE!
They are both accurate and have about equal range.
As a back player, you will have to lay paint at times.
Lay is a weak term, how about spray paint.
The ACE in the Timi prevents chopping which keeps your accuracy up there when you are cutting the edge of the bunkers ACROSS the field.
I play with a Warp feed and can fill my hopper while it is safely behind the bunker while shooting at the same time.
At a recent Tourney, I shot about 4 cases of paint without a single broken ball.
To add the ACE to the Defiant, it usually costs more than the difference in prices between the two and always looks added on.
Hope this helps.

To me it's no contest - Intimidator all the way. It's just better.

I would say Intimidator no doubt. I have a timmy and a matter of fact I got it from mike at http://www.countypaintball.com who just posted above me. Mike has the greatest store and cheapest prices to find anything u want. Yo mike what'ss up it's me Joe Ostrowski (jen Gizzi's friend). I definitly agree with Vern1 if you are laying down the paint as a boack player, the ACE will definitly just kick ***. No ball breakage at all. I have had mine for about 6 months or so and I have not broken a single ball yet. To top it all off they look sweet as hell. I hope that this helps. Good Luck in deciding and I hope you make the right decision and go for the timmy.

Hey, Thank you all for responding, the timmy sounds great.... but how about the maintenence wise? are the simple to take care of? i'm mainly looking for a very reliable gun that i can trust every where i go, and 655 is an awesome price, if i choose to get it, i will get it off you Mike. Thats one hell of a price.

The only thing is, i will be running a maxflow through it and i dont think i need a aftermarket reg for it so i will get like a kapp gas thru.. but what presure do these guns wrong at, and what would be the imput to the gun to get the best consistency for around 290 FPS

Thanks again for everyones help

The timmy is extremely easy to maintain, especially since no balls break, so u don't have to worry about cleaning that out, also the bolt comes right out when u give it a little pull upward. It slides right out the back and u can clean it, oil it, change your o-rings, or whatever else u have to do with it. hope this helped.

huh, sad
you chose your gun with out hearing any input from the other side,

well since you have already decided i wont waist my time and post my oppinion on which you should buy

most of the time people post on specific gun forums they have already made up thier mind and just want encourage ment,

no offence guys, but these oppinions are definatly biased, just like if you had asked the same question on the icd forum my oppinion would be biased, next time to get accurate pros and cons of both you should post on a general forum.

The recommended input pressure for the Intimidator is about 500psi. If you're using a preset tank (most are set around 800psi) then you'll want a secondary regulator as your foregrip to lower the psi to 500 before it enters the gun.

As for maintenance, piece of cake. Check out the new manual. I forget the original site it was on, but you can download a copy from my server. (all copyrights to the creators, etc.)

http://www.CountyPaintball.com/IntimidatorManual.pdf

You need Adobe Acrobat reader for the .pdf format. Cleaning it is a breeze. Like was said above, you pull up on the top pin, and the main bolt slides right out. Unscrew the end cap and the ram comes out. The manual shows EVERYTHING in detail which makes the job super easy.

also: right now Timmy's are $606.

the timmy from firstcallpaintball.com has been there for several weeks and it's on usually on sale at that price until they take it down. But hey, it's your money.
