Should the Trade Embargo Against Cuba Be Lifted?
What do y'all think? Probably been done before but I don't ever remember it.
I'm at school right now and gotta fly. I'll put in my two cents when I get home. >.<

Wow, I wonder where you got the idea to make this thread from.
Yes, the embargo should be lifted.

It's a topic I'm choosing for my business class. The overwhelming majority of people believe the embargo should be lifted (I'm leaning that way too), but I want to see both sides of the coin and there's always someone on PbN that'll disagree with you.

I guess our gain would be to outsource industry to Cuba...but what's the difference between Cuba and outsourcing to Mexico and central america.
On the all I see no gain or economic advantage from cuba...they have nothing to offer.

It has been said that Cuban cigars are no longer considered the finest in the world due to the declining growing conditions induced by Castro's dumb****ery.

Anyone know who makes the finest? As far as the embargo goes, I really can't come up with any to say about it. I guess I'm kinda neutral.

I meant to the advantage of the United States....it is obvious that the population of cuba is in desperate need of capitalism, it is also obvious that there has been no regime change in cuba and castro has no intention of relenquishing his control so....I say the desperate 11.5M can wait until he dies, then we can talk

true that, and I can already get a great cuban pressed sandwich right here in town. If Cuba wants to see the embargo lifted, they need to drag castro's sorry *** in the street and stick his head on a stick high enough for us to see it from Florida.

ending the embargo wont do as much as people say it would fedel wont let american industries into cuba and will not allow us marketing goods to cubans (damn comunists). i dont know why we would help fedel make money from tourism just to make a bigger military. there is no way the people could rise against him we has a dedicated huge military ( one of the largest in the world). we should just wait untill fedel is dead there isnt anyone who can hold the country like he can so it wont matter hes old enough he will day within the next 10 years we can wait it out.

US made the decision to not have anything to do with communism a long time ago, yet we have relations w/ china/ vietnam.
mostly its because it would be very unpopular as many americans (namely cuban) are very anti-castro.
besides bush has our middle eastern "threat" to worry about and on a side note i hope iran is bombed by isreal....again

It should be lifted. There is no reason for it to exist in the first place.

I can live with the Cuban cigars. Is there a reason to lift the embargo? I cnnot think of a good one. The embargo should remain intact as long as Castro is in power, as it was promised. People's Paradise, my butt! I do love seeing those nifty raft contraptions the Cuban refugees make though, especially the auto turned boat.
