anyway, i think that the new electras have really stepped up spyders quality for begginers, and as for ions, i own one, idc, but dont be razzing on all spyder and ion owners, they are the only guns affordable to 3/4s of the paintball population...i bet almost all of us in this thread can admit to owning or starting out with a spyder or clone....

any gun on the market can shoot fast as hell they are now capped by the board and the hopper on the gun


the algorithym on a spyders boards all all messed up thats why u can walk a spyder 12 bps and only get 8 balls


the ion is in a completly diffrent cat. that the spyder the ion shoots like a true tournoment level gun its more efficent more consistant, just a better all around gun

The elctra will have insane kick though. It runs on 800 psi which is insanley high. which means nothing past 20 consistantly. My friend has an imagine with a rocking trigger thing has kick but you can get it up to 30 easily with that rocking trigger. But im working on the new 06 electra i bought a t-board and a ramping chip for it and connected the eyes to the board it rips. Im useing bob long hoses and put a macroline. SP asa so the operating pressure will lower buy about 200 so i use a lpr tank and it shoots almost as well as my pm6 great back up gun!

I think the only kick issue Spyders tend to have is that their ASA's are ALWAYS on drops. Drops are going to give the effect of more kick because the pivot point of the gun is farther off-center than with a direct-mount. Yes, they are higher pressure (not the full 800, I don't believe... closer to 700), than the average gun, but so are Tippmanns, and rarely did any of my Tippmanns give me recoil issues. Anyway, that's just in case anyone cares to know.

I sold one today at our store... I almost talked him into an ion, but he really wanted to stay with spyders because, apparently, he had a reliable one for 2 years... I had an ion in the box within reaching distance and he said "Ok, the ion" I grabbed the box and asked what color he said "Actually I'll take the electra". Meh, his choice... the ion was cheaper.
