Impulse modded valve...
Check this video out...it's of my "Husher" Impulse mod. I think the video explains why I call it that, for good reason.
http://www.zdspb.com/media/video/husherimpulse1.wmv
Later in the week I'll try to get a better hopper so I can show it with some better speed....

ok it works now. i use firefox so i had to go in internet explorer to make it work. and maybe it's just cause of the sound quality, but that doesn't sound any quieter than any other imp.

have you ever heard an impulse shoot? Sorry, rhetorical question (I know you have).
But yeah, it's quieter. Significantly quieter.

from my experience it really depends on the barrel. and also from my experience the reduction in noise from gun to gun doesn't matter anyway since it's not gonna help in a speedball tourney. im curious as to what u did to the valve to make the marker quieter tho. interesting.

Yeah I know....noise level of the gun doesn't matter. Don't worry, I didn't make this mod just so it'd be quieter (it has other benefits).
It's a totally new valve. Essentially what I did was remove the percussive hammer/valve action that takes place in the stock setup. The gun now works like a spool valve marker, except the bolt is linked to the moving piece.
It's similar to the difference between an Impulse firing and a Shocker firing. My Husher gun is a little louder than a shocker, but it's still much quieter than the average Imp.

so essentially you connected the ram and valve piston into one piece. nice thinking if that's what you did. never heard of anyone doing that before. it would create less noise because there would be no more hammer hitting the valve piston and depending on how you set it up possibly no more spring. to connect the two you'd need to elongate the ram and screw it into the valve piston. to connect the two you'd need to remove the back cap and the front cap then with an allen wrench screw the now elongated ram into a newly threaded end of the valve piston.
wait, no you couldn't do that because you'd need to shotrten the full stroke of the ram just enough to have a similar dwell as the stock valve. scuse my rambling just typing out loud. what exactly did you do?
i'm intrigued to say the least

Well, let's just say it's not a pretty mod at this point. The gun isn't really made to accept this kind of thing...lol
The new bolt actuator is screwed into the same ole ram, but the valve housing is quite a bit different to allow the necessary o-rings to seal. As you may have noticed there's not really enough room for a full ram stroke in the stock valve.
I'll try to whip up some diagrams to show how it works.

Maybe, but probably not. I hate producing and selling parts. It's not really too innivative, just a different way of doing things. I'll be testing it within the next few days/weeks to see how much of a performance gain it gets over the more "classic" heavy hammer with stock bolt.

Why not take it a little further...design a single tube body that would accept the ram ***'y which would drive a spool valve/bolt.
