Gaming Computers FAQ

So you want a gaming computer? Custom or prebuilt we can answer that here.

How do I build one?
If you don't know how then research. Or find someone else to build it. Do not get bestbuy, circuit city, etc to build it. Small computer shops are probably your best bet.

Want a prebuilt gaming machine?
Well DON'T GO TO BESTBUY, CIRCUIT CITY, ETC. You will need to look most likely online for a prebuilt gaming machine. Alienware are good computers but you are pretty much paying for the case and the name. They are good computers but you can build one with the same specs for a lot cheaper. Look around on the internet for gaming machines, gaming computers, or any phrase like that and you should find a lot. Here are a few links though if you are lazy.

Tiger Direct Custom Gaming Computers

http://www.alienware.com/

http://www.thunderboxpc.com

http://www.dell.com The XPS is good.

VooDoo Pcs

http://www.ibuypower.com

http://www.cyberpowerpc.com

If you plan on building a computer. Please look at the following thread. So You Want to Build a Gaming Computer By: Kustom Kid

And you spelled "plan" plane.
I also built my first mid-range gaming PC with no prior knowledge to electronics/PC's..

I like the thread, but I agree with A2TheRizzo. If you dont know how to build a computer you can research, you dont need prior knowledge, last I heard the cognitive brain is still capable of gaining new knowledge

After about 5 months just reading forums, I could say on a scale of 1-10 on a scale of how much PC knowledge I have, I would say 7 or 8.

You could possibly have even more.

Walk out on the street and talk to people about computers, you'd be surprised how flat out idiotic the majority of them are.

I think the worse thing Ive heard someone say is when I asked what kind of computer they had (expecting at least a brand name or specs), they answered "a flatscreen" OR "an 80gb".

I love the people that ask what the "big box" is...i'm like thats the computer...they're like, no this is the computer *points at monitor*...sigh
But really, I'm with you A2TheRizzo, I've been studying forums nonstop (such as hardforums, xtremesystems, etc.) for like 5 months, and I still dont know as much as a lot of those people on those forums do. However, to learn how to build a computer is really quite simple. Its an easy beginning learning curve, but once you get into more technical stuff (such as WHY things work as they do) it gets more complicated...and also more interesting

I know so many girls and even some guys (that play comp. games non stop) that buy computers like monthly. It's so sad hearing someone say they bought a new computer because I know within a month it will turn to trash and run like crap so they will throw it out or sell it then go buy a new computer. Spoiled brats!

QFT.

In any case, if you've ever plugged anything into a wall socket, you can probably build a computer. It's really that simple!

They offer excellent paintjobs for your Chassis.
Same level as a paintjob on a car. Shiny.

But it'll cost you an arm and a leg.
