LOL. Good luck using rit dye. It involves boiling water to cause the dye to adhere and when you put an elastic band in that water its going to deform and melt.

i dont know what your talking about. Some of us RC people use rit dye to dye rims and such different colors. It does not melt anything we use.

Yes, RIT dye is made for plastic. But the elastic in straps is so thin, the BOILING WATER, will melt it, not the dye.

No it won't, I have done it.

I would actually suggest dyeing the strap be done in the washer with hot water and the dye mixed in, all the dye on a small hot water wash should be fine...just concentrate the dye enough so it isn't deluted. that would be more appropriate..
