Question Matrix... reliable?

How reliable is the matrix? does it brake down a lot? get leaks? lots of bolt stick? or other problems...

...rate the reliability... (be honest 0=junk, 10=works perfect every time)

thanks.

well my is new but so far she hasn't let me down all i do is wipe her down between games, run some oil through the reg (to lube the inline) and clean and lube the bolt after every use and she sings brother! aside from the sometime bolt stick ( i think more of a tuning problem on my part...still gotta learn in and out ya know ) i'd say she is perfect. just like brando said if you take care of it it'll take care of you but neglect and it'll **** on you but then again you'd deserve it for not taking care of it in the first place, over all i'd say get one cause you won't be disapointed

big fat 5. On and off leaks, non fixable problems that resulted in having to send me an entirely new gun, procaps always being uncaring (on a lunch break) Umm who has 3 1/2 hour lunch breaks? Sending me replacement parts 2 1/2 weeks late and other **** like that made me sell it. And no, I didnt go from a spyder either, went from a sweetly tuned cocker.

I'd give it an 8 for reliability, mine has rarely screwed up.

You don't understand. They are French.

Its a European custom. Goto Europe, and try to buy ANYTHING from 11am till 2pm. Everything is closed.

To be honest. Some ppl have had s*** luck with the gun.
But, places like Aardvark CPP & the matrix center make it
a lot easier to fix.

Overall, it's about an 8 or 9. TAKE CARE OF IT. That will
take care of 80% of possible problems. The mods take
care of MOST of the rest.

phantom leaks are always a potential problem. Comes when you mix a design with many o-rings and poor machining tolerances.

Bah. I've built hundreds of these guns, and phantom leaks aren't really a problem. The beehives are finnicky. You can't tighten the tourney screw in too much, cause you will wreck the reg. Other than that, with some aftermarket orings, the thing won't leak again. With the past 3 matrices I've owned, its been that way, and will continue that way as I buy more. Our orings are the sealiest.

My #1158 has not given me some uncureable problems yet bu boy does she ever leak. In the way only matrices can. Its not uncommon that after a few shots a small leak starts at the bolt. It works fine though. Odd thing is that i can leave it alone for a while and return to a matrix with no leaks. Prolly funky o-rings. Gonna get some harder silicone ones or such later on. I also suspect the reg sorta half-sux so im gonna get a frontgrip and let my max-flo do the work. So as for reliable ill say 7, minus on the funky leaks but plus on that they are e-z to fix.b 7

The matrix is my first toury gun I have been playing for 3 years and all I have used are spyder's and m98's im not a huge tech guy so I leave that to the pros (fatty and Aardvark) so they keep my gun in perfect shape so i rate my matrix 9 out a 10 but fatty is right the beehive regs are really feenacy. Just ask him I shot him in the back due to my reg acting up and loping most of my paint.

will the gun work good if you let the max flow work by itself?

The max-flo will indeed work by itself, Adrian (a diablo-tech) told me at Joymasters 2001. The reg was mostly included for the players with preset-hpa:s and is not really necessary when using high-end hpa:s that can handle low pressure operation. Just keep an eye on the output. Or youll prolly have a matrix spread all over the field.... Im thinking a smartparts frontgrip with b-plug... and then a freak-set.... Then ill be poor.

As for working good, Im not sure. I have yet to try it. But I cant see how it wont work good seeing as the max-flo is one of the top hpa:s out there...

"Just ask him I shot him in the back due to my reg acting up and loping most of my paint."

I was TRYING to bunker the guy on the other side of the 50, but NOOOOO, drew had to lay a few shots on me. SO DUMB.

I'm settin up my gun with my maxflo today, simply due to boredom. I'll let you know how it keeps up. Its a 99 maxflo btw.
