man i was at a tech conv. in NJ and the maker of the gun said the WAS board is almost done. and that there are other boards in the work! however they didn't say anything about being able to put in another board like the dm's so i don't know if i would try it. later man. HOT GAT by the way!

I posted some info on the chips in a thread a while back.
I haven't gotten any word from anyone from FEP as to if DM3/4/5 chips work in their marke. BUT their marker does use PIC16F88 chips, which are similiar but not the same as the ones DM3/4/5 markers. The pins outs are the same, but the actual features of the chip itself isn't. Depending on the programming of the chip, they may work. I'll have mine in later this week and I'm going to try it with a new chip this weekend. I'll let people know if/how it works!

Ok, got my Quest in last night and took a look at the board and chip. It WILL NOT work with DM3/4/5 chips.
Why?
Will all markers work basically the same, but the external interface on the Quest is different then a DM3/4/5. The DM markers have 2 buttons on the back to operate it, and have 4 DIPs inside. The Quest has 1 button on the back to operate it and 2 DIPs inside. Just that alone means the logic you have to code the chip to work with won't work. Maybe hte chips themself may work, but chips programmed for DM3/4/5 markers will not.
But hey, that just means someone has to make an aftermarker chip now for them!
Hey FEP, who makes you boards and codes your chips now? If you don't mind telling us.
