Just wanted to share

Last Sunday I was at my local field and I had the good fortune of trying out a boomstick for a few games. This was a used boomstick with minor scratches inside and out.

I broke about 5 balls in 3 games with it and that turned me off to boomies. Granted, the scratches probably affected performance greatly but even when I was shooting without a break in the barrel, I wasnt getting any better performance then I get from my Xcel and JJ Ceramic barrels...

The amazing thing was that the kid who owned it wanted $60 for it!!!

yeah, boomres look cool and all, but I think that they just can't beat the performance of a J&J or Bigshot.

could also be paint match.. with that many breaks sounds like the barel bore was too small for the paint

Think that's bad dager? Wait til you try and shoot Nelson paint through an Armson Stealth!!

I must say though, with paint spraying like it was, I have found a better version of the Wagner power painter!

isnt the dye xcel and boomie the same bore? .690??

i shot the same paint (kickin' paint from a brand new box) with my xcel barrel and I had no breaks - as usual, no problems... kickin paint is .688 and the barrel bore is .690 so i figured its an alright match - now, this point is moot if the boomie is not the same bore as the xcel...

anyways, i really do think the used condition and all the scratches on the inside of the barrel had a lot to do with the breakage...

i mean, all these people who rave about it cant all be wrong...
