quest lpr and hpr settings

Where is the best way to have your lpr set? flush or in a couple threads. I just got a quest and havent had one since 08. I am using a hyper 2 reg on my quest, I know how to zero out the hyper 2 but not the lpr. Any help would be great!

Thanks!

In is higher pressure on LPR, out is lower. It should be set to where the bolt will cycle reliably and you don't see FPS go up any more on the chrono (which could be anywhere from 40 to 100 PSI depending on how well fitted/broken in your o'rings are and what lube you're using).

I assume you have an early vert asa with no guage?
the best tway to set it up if you have no guage is to install the bolt into the marker and push it forward so that it is in the breach. Then install the pin and tighten. Remove the hpr and set it to 225 psi with a reg tester. Reinstall the reg. Now back the lpr adjustment screw all the way out. Air up the marker. If the valve leaks its bad. With the marker aired up turn in the lpr adjustment screw until the bolt is pulled all the way back. once its pulled back give it an extra 1/4 turn and chrono. If the marker is experiencing signs of fsdo or bolt stick (noid puffs and wont cycle on the first shot) you may want to turn up the low pressure a little. Chrono and shoot streams, if you experience shoot down you may want to turn the low pressure up a little (may also want to rebuild your lpr & hpr).

Ok that's a good thing- I like to swap the 0-300 psi gauge with a 0-160 psi gauge to get a more accurate low pressure reading and be able to fine tune it more. Sometimes you can't tell with the other gauge if you're at 90 or you're at 95?100?
Not necessary but a nice touch in my opinion
Typically with new orings the gun will cycle around 100 psi- sometimes a lol more sometimes a lil less.
Once the orings are broken in a little the lp can typically be dropped a bit but ease into it or you will experience probs with fsdo- stick- and shootdown
Eventually(after a few cases) you should be able to run it around 80 and that'll give you a nice smooth shot

I had the lpr about 1 and 1/2 turns in and took it out to shoot about a week ago. it was brand new(from scheels so im not sure how "new" it was) jt flash paint. Never shot it before it was about 30 for a case so i said hell with it. shot almost a hopper and then broke a ball in the barrel, cleaned it and got some more paint and it broke ever 5 balls. did the something with my cyborg rx so not sure what the hells going on haha. But my quest gauge was reading almost 200! since then ive relubed the lpr and it seems to sit around 100 ok

If it goes up high like that you likely have hp and lp air mixing in the marker and need to relube or replace orings. Uziels sticky about orings goes through that well enough. If it is a creeping lpr meaning it slowly climbs up to whatever the hp is set at then you've Likely got a lp spring that is worn.

But since you say it's sitting at 100 fine now after the lube all seems correct.
If your cyborg was also breaking the paint I think we can blame the paint for some of the breakage.
