I fail to see your point BTW: An out of focus shot at graduation isn't very compelling, but that's just me.

I will see a difference since shooting sports indoors at f/1.4 will look MUCH better than shooting f/3.5 with my D70 kit lens. I don't know why you are arguing. With lenses, you pay for what you get. I'd rather make the investment early than have to buy crappy lenses and end up in the long run spending more money to buy better lenses.

The out of focus graduation thing wasn't even with my camera, in fact, I don't even know how it happened, I just took it.

I'm not really arguing. I am not saying Zeiss Lenses aren't worth the money. I'd be a moron to say that, I'm saying to people OTHER than people in the photography community, you really won't be able to tell the difference that much.
