My leap to get back into Photography.
Well, my sister and I were looking at cameras yesterday, and while she was looking at regular point and shoots, I was oogling over the Canon EOS 20D and the Nikon D70. I kept playing with them, and then she said "Write the name of the one you want, and you might get a birthday present."
Now I just need to figure out which camera is worth the buy.

I'd sell you my d70 if I could get a d200 to replace it
Unfortunately, since I can't, I'll be the first nikon sackrider to level with you. If you can afford both, get the 20d. It's a better camera.

Clayton -Your opinion was one of the ones I wanted the most. Thanks. Also, if/when I do get one of these, there will be probably a lot of band photography.

No, it really isn't. The 20D is a superior camera Ted. It's 8.2 MP vs 6.3, has legendary noise handling, and many other advantages.
Go with the 20D if you can. In terms of glass, you may want to consider getting the better kit lens (seems like a great walkaround to me) or just getting like a 50 mm prime (they can be found for less than $100).

That's true, if it's an option. D200 might be my next camera, unless Canon's 20D replacement is a challenge to it. Not having to sell/buy all new glass would be excellent. I can't wait to see what that thing is.
But that also brings up another point. You might want to wait till the rumored 20D replacement comes out (either to get the 20D on the cheap, or get one of the new things).
Hooray for spending large sums of money!!

Well, see, my birthday isn't until May. So, hopefully, the 20D will be cheaper by then.

Wait till the 20D replacement, and the price on the 20D will drop a bit by a hundred or more

Nope, its going to be called the 50D because 30D is too close to the D30.
