Eclipse Tech Advice..........concerning grease, QEVs and solenoids

I've recently seen an alarming number of cases where Ego owners have been using grease to lubricate their rammers, causing a build up of grease in their QEVs which consequently leads them to believe that either their QEVs or solenoids are faulty.

If you know of anyone using grease to lubricate their rammer, then please set them straight and advise them to use a light oil instead. If you have already used grease then remove your rammer and clean off all of the grease replacing it with a light oil instead.

If you suspect that your QEV is clogged with grease or the diaphragm of your QEV is stuck preventing it from operating properly, then all that you need to do is remove your QEV, strip, clean and replace it onto your rammer housing.

Any questions please email me directly at: nick.t@planeteclipse.com

Thanks,

Nicky T

You mean you aren't supposed to put vaseline on all the high friction fast moving parts?

Low pressure air comes in contact with the rammer, not the high-pressure air. And yes, we've come a long way in the paintball technology.

Okay, it's still not high-friction with the oil.

... because the oil reduces the friction but its more a hell of a lot more friction than say something that isn't moving like 95% of the rest of the Ego.

grease also attracts more dirt then oil. Any paintball gun oil will work fine.

I use triflow and hasnt given me any trouble.

Alright yeah mine are clogged, but I always use oil. I myself and probably more people would know how to remove the QEV's.

heh, I actually broke a paintball and it went down into the area between the valve and rammer, and I guess as I was shooting the paint got sucked in through the qev's

I cleaned everything as best as I could without dismanteling my QEV's and it still seems to work so I guess sucking paint through isnt too bad.
