Official iPod Discussion Thread
I, like you all, am getting tired of ALL these iPod support threads!! This thread is for everybody with ANY type of ipod. Just post here and I, and hopefully some others will try our best to help you.
Alot of stuff to help software problems for iPods can be found here. I have fixed 4 or 5 ipods of people I know from this.
ALSO!! Read this before making a new thread asking for help. Alot of help can be found here.
If its hardware, still post it here, and we will try to help.
***Everyone with an iPod video needing help on putting movies/music on it: here is a post I found helpful to you guys, but not ALL iPod users..
If too many people don't like this idea, I will delete it I guess ...

Did my thread blow you over the top??
EDIT:: (Continued from my thread) I charged my iPod, and unplugged it. I turned it on, and then turned it off. Even without it being plugged in, it displayed the "battery is fully charged symbol" I then proceed to turn it back on, and it tells me "battery is drained, please recharge the battery." I am pretty sure my battery is shot, even though I bought this late last June.

Send it back to Apple for a battery replacement. If it is within warrenty, the battery replacement should be free. If not, it should be around $50.

I bought the extended service warranty @ Circuit City so I can send it to them and I might get a gift card.

1. Uninstall iTunes
2. Reinstall iTunes
3. Install iPod updater
4. Plug in iPod
5. Follow steps
6. If that dosn't work, send it in to apple for a new battery.

Having trouble with my friends Ipod, when you plug the Ipod into the computer idk it doesnt seem to recognize it or even know its plugged into the USB. It won't update itself and add the songs onto the ipod, which is causing my friend to have about....5 songs. Won't upload...........I tried explaining this...but uh if u need anymore info just ask. Windows Computer....so far we've gotten the latest software but didn't help.

No need for a sticky. We don't get enough threads to need that. Though for something like "look at my rig", or "xbox 360 blah blah blah!". We need stickies for that.

P8ntRope- umm i can only think of two things,
1) Try it on a couple of different computers and if you get it to work reformat it.
2) Reset it i think its the menu and the center button.

Best place to download music?
Well, i've become bored with all my music i have and am looking to fill about 10-15GB worth of music to fill my 30GB touchwheel iPod.
I don't like kazaa or imesh or limewire, i've tried them all and i seem to always get viruses, bad music quality, and am overall not satisfied with them.
So i am posing the question, where's the best place to download music for my iPod? I don't mind paying $5-10 a month like on napster or yahoo, but have any of you used these?
Any references or opinions would be great.
(sorry if this is in the faq)

1st of all, great job posting here. you just saved a thead. .
2nd, Napster to go and yahoo don't work with apple's format for ipods.
3rd, I'd download bittorrent/bitlord or something and start dling some torrents from torrentspy.com
