edit:

what kinda car is that camaro? what have you done to it? just forged bottom end? i'd like to get into 11's. haha. but not likely with my current rides. lol.

I've been looking at the 300zx and I like them a lot. Would it be smart to invest in the twin turbo version or get one without a twin turbo and spend the money to get a turbo when I feel like it?

well it depends. one that comes stock with twin turbo was mostly likely driven harder than non turbo. but it has the beefed up bottom end already. but if you were planning to pull the motor out and rebuild the bottom end anyways, it would be better to get the non turbo.

edit: i looked around on ebay and there a nice one all other the country so you should be able to get your hands on one fairly easily. and they are not very expensive either. some ince ones just over half of what you were looking to spend ont he car alone. then you could take the extra cash and really lay down some power. i couldnt find very many manual non turbos. but if you're gonna rebuild it; it doesnt matter so long as the block and head arent cracked.

Probably not. I know all the tuner shops around here and get almost any car part at cost + $10, so I get fairly good deals and I'm on good terms with all the shops. The first few races I'll probably get my *** handed to me, just not being that experianced in street racing and the such. Plus I know a fair amount of racers on the scene here so they'll all help teach me stuff.

A tt 300zx if one of the very few imports I would consider putting money into. And with 8k, that 300z would be the baddest mofo on the planet. Please God tell me you aren't only into this for straight line stuff.

you kinda have to be good at something before you can be a hustler at it. good driving skills dont come overnight. expect a long while before youre taking anyone's money.

You want to street race with a RWD car? Good luck finding traction if the car makes any sort of decent power. Street racing is silly but AWD rules there.

laser man, its laser, they are pretty quick, even my FWD one, turbos in'em arnt too bad, if ur gonna get one, test drive in when its a bit colder out, to see how it runs, all of'em warm up rough and grind in the low gears until they get a little heat, no biggie though. n make sure the turbo isnt f'ed or leaking
more info on those is at www.dsmtalk.com any q's u have will be answered there

If you want to drag race, nothing beats American power. Seriously, you can dump tons of cash into an I4, and it will never have the torque of a V8. Sorry.

I don't wanna try to argue with you, but for the best bang for your buck, a camaro or mustang are your best bets. Get a $5,000 civic and a 5K Stang or Camaro, pour 7K into them, and which one will be faster? That sounds like a good TV show ideal.

you dont have any clue how to set up a car let alone how to drive one fast in a street race...are you concerned about safety of others while you're being an inexperienced idiot showing off?

Okay, prick. First off. I don't care about you if you want to flame stay outta my thread. And to answer your question I don't watch F&TF much. I saw it once when it came out in theatres. So what if I don't know how to set up a car can I not learn and get experiance doing so? I mean god damn. I'm sorry not all of come out of the womb being able to take apart an engine and put it back together with our eyes closed. I'm doing this for a learning experiance and to have some fun. I came to get answers about it, and you domestic fan boys are all *******s about it.

tzu- we're talking about a 300zx and they have a 3L v-6.

And I have a 3.8L v-6 and blue has enough displacement to keep a navy battleship afloat () I also never implied he was getting a civic, I mearly used it as an example.
