PAINTBALLS!!! Thats right, the absolute number one, top of the list, best thing you can buy for your timmy is PAINT!!!!!!
Guys, paintball is turning from a sport into a car show. People spend tons of money on guns, bring them to the field, and don’t even use them! That’s like customizing a car, towing it to a car show, and never driving it. Thats not a sport, thats a hobby!
I hate to break the news to the aftermarket companies out there, but a bone stock bob long intimidator, even the 2k2 ones, is one of the best markers I’ve ever seen for paintball.
I would take a bone stock, 2k2 timmy into ANY Xball, PSP or NPPL televised tournament. No upgrades, out of the box and straight on the field.
A completely stock bob long regulator was designed not only for performance, but also for ease of service. Sure, a CP Reg MIGHT be a slightly better reg, but have you ever tried to take one of those apart? Do you even know how? I can service, repair, clean, lube and reassemble a LPR and HPR in about 60 seconds. THAT’S why bob put them in the gun.
I hate to break the news to you, but your gun isn’t the reason you suck. Upgrading a timmy before shooting 10+ cases through it is like pouring salt on a $100 steak before tasting it. That new board, new reg, new trigger isnt going to help you one bit in taking out another player.
And this obsession with lower pressure? This is the biggest goof of all time. The timmy is designed to run at 80psi. The ONLY 2 things you will accomplish by lowering your LPR pressure is slower cycle speed and inconsistent velocity. I own a BMW, BMW says I have to run my tires at 45psi. Should I run my tires at a “lower pressure” because it might make the car faster? NO! The factory says to run the gun at 80psi, run the gun at 80psi.
On Rendition, Gunner owns a practically stock 2005 Lasoya. The only upgrade to his gun is a hedlock feedneck. He set his gun up with the same exact settings in my sig, and has shot over 25 cases of paint without a single break, chop or misfeed. His gun MOWS people, it shoots darts, it’s within +/- 5fps, and always works.
Are you looking to enter a carshow or you looking to be a baller?
A baller is someone who plays, a poser is someone who spends a ton of money on his gun, and has no money for paint. I played with spyders and autocockers for almost 5 years before I bought my first angel.
Put some paint into your timmy. Don’t waste your money on “gun jewelry”. Shoot 10 cases through your gun first, then tell us what you need to upgrade.
Try it one day. Timmys are the workhorses of paintball. Kind of like the Glock of handguns. Bob Long made these guns so that us, the players, could spend more time playing, and less time fixing, tuning, and tinkering with his gun. He did us a favor by desiging the best gun in paintball, honor the Godfather of Paintball by using his creation to melt faces on the field
