The Ultimate Battle!

So here's the thing:

As Sports Car enthusiasts, we have an unbelievable selection of cars to go for. At the $30,000 range, there are three cars that simply stand out above the rest with performance that matches high dollar exotics 5 times their price.

The contenders:

WRX STi
Evo 8
R32

Of these three monsters, which would you prefer?

Personally, I think the R32 is the best choice. With outstanding fit and finish, it is the best daily driver. And in all honesty, you can compensate for the lack of power with good driving skills (and maybe some stickier tires ).

What would you take and why?

i didnt read the thread and i thought it was a r32 skyline.

i would take the sti if i had to own it and drive it everyday.

i would take the evo if i was going to race it only.

STi hands down. IMO, apperance, interior, AWD, turbo, few grand in mods and it would scream. I beleive the Evo is turbo also. Not sure on the VW but if I had those three cars infront of me i'd be the first one in the STi.

I almost forgot. The STi has a hood scoop

That R32 looks the best IMO, but I'd have to go with the STi. I'd be driving it around in the snow and the other two just dont have enough ground clearance for it.

I'd probably kill myself driving any of them though.

The R32 is a 3.2L VR6 Turbo....the interior kicks the sti's *** imo, its AWD. few grand in mods and it would scream...even tho it already does.

R32.....

Its a toss up between the R32 and the STi for me... but I voted R32.

Oh and none of these three come anywhere close to performing like the type of sports car you can buy for 150k. But that doesn't mean they aren't extremely cool, extremely capable cars!

i owned an r32 which i loved, but crashed(not my fault) and now own a sti, i would take my r32 back any day, the sti is nice as hell but vw has the best handling and interior which def. makes up for the inferior power, and for the evo, it's inferior all around to the r32 and sti

edit^^^^ thats interesting

vw and evo have transverse mounted engines the evo RS is dope tho. i like how its no frills. race cars usually dont have power windows. take the wing off STi and put on a cf trunk lid. ooh, that would be sweet if they made a 3L opposed 4. or maybe an opposed 6?

umm, according to road&trrack the r32 has to worst handeling numbers, acceleration numbers, mpg, and top speed of the three. But it looks sweet

out of those, EVO.

for 30 grand I'd get an 03 cobra or used Z06 and beat up on any of those. And a car twice the price would rape any of those, so how can it expect to beat cars 5 times the price?

STi, hands down. Nice interior, exterior, strong to take abuse, nicely upgradeable.

Evo - way too harsh for daily driveing and notorious for breaking stuff.

R32 - Just dont like VW and thier over all designs.

idk what kind of crack road & track is smoking but in no way does the r32 have the worst handling of the 3 or acceleration, i'd say the sti has the best acceleration, but the r32 def. has best handling hands down, and i've ownd and drove one fore long time

VW's best bet for a super GTI/GLI contender like the R32 would be the VR6 somehow shoved in a subcompact, ie. Polo, and outfitted with 4mo. people'd look over the cutsie proportions and small space and see a lighterweight sport compact.

Evo.

evo's have no reliabity and the craftsmanship is less then poor, and evo will not do over 100,000 without major work, the sti is faster, and can handle jsut about any terain, the r32 still has low clearance, overall hp/torque is not a amazing as a sti/evo, but vw's are reliable, the safest by far, and the vr6 engine is the only made without a timing chain and anyone who knows anything about cars knows that inportant. Slap 4 motion a supercharger and better suspension and brake package and the r32 is everything german engeneering has to offer all into one, sti and evo can not compete with the all around package, but they all have there own advantages
