Honda Prelude

So I've singled down to a Honda Prelude as the next car I'm going to buy. I know most people on these boards are either hardcore domestic lovers, but there are a few who like imports. So I was thinking of getting a 5 speed 2.2-liter DOHC VTEC while I know it's not the fastest, is there a better engine swap I could do when I get it or would you say the Vtec is good enough and just use the extra money I have to put some upgrades on the engine to make it faster? Does anyone have experiance with a prelude, if so did you like it or not? Reasoning behind liking it or not, please?

my sister hada prelude, the 5 spd 2.2 dohc vtec, it def. wasn't the fastest but it was a good an reliable ride. I wouldn't bother with an engine swap, just some engine mads, suspension and sway bars (their body roll is horrilbe at high speeds) they are really reliable and great on gas, if you're looking for hardcore performance though, you're looking at the wrong car all together

^^^^^^ listen to him. plus. if you already know its not gonna be mega fast. just hold off on the performance mods all together. they are quick enough not to be considered slow. and if thats what you want and a nice little ride than a prelude would prolly work good for ya.

They're nice rides, but you rarely find many in SoCal because most people rip out their engines and drop them into Civics. Preludes are nice, but please don't rice it out.

its a honda, no need to swap the engine for a good 300,000+(the VTec will probably be the biggest that will fit)

Not really looking to rice it out, ie no spolier, or body kit but I do like the looks of the euro lights so I'd get those and some nice rims, then lower it a bit. I don't really know if you consider that ricing it out, but to me it's not.
