Dakar Rally

OLN has decided to redeem itself this year and not have ****ty Dakar coverage (last year's was worthless). They're back to short coverage each day (a la Speed), starting on January 1st. Check out their site for times.

For real. What was it, like five hours after it was totally over? I didn't even bother watching; I just checked the daily updates on the Dakar site.

I love the big rig trucks in the dakar rally. How they can offroad so well is beyond me. That's my favorite part of watching the rally.

Yup. Like: http://www.dakar-derooy.com/2005/uk/...images/237.jpg

(Huge image and I didn't feel like resizing it.)

The DeRooy team rules. I would definately participate in carnal activites with one of their vehicles.

I grew up in a racing family (ice & rally with a little Indy), so I have a soft spot for it.

Some STers don't like me because I don't take **** and I haven't posted half-nekked pictures of myself.

Pokenose: Some other pictures from the Dakar site. Good quality for wallpaper.

The Dakar always seemd so boring...even something like the Baja 500 is more exciting. WRC, however, is >*.

The WRC will be better when Nicky Grist dies.

Baja is alright, but the Dakar is cool because of the pure endurance you need to have to get through it.

amen to that, the guys that ride bikes in the dakar have balls the size of boulders.

which makes me question how they manage to ride.

I like nick

Though when he was codriving with Mcrae last year I suppose it was nice to have that break from his commentary
