Alpine vs Pioneer

Im buying a cd player in the 350$ price range. I have it narrows down to the Pioneer DEH 860 and the Alpine 9855. Any comments about either of these decks or any other suggestions?

Are there any numbers or statistics backing up your decisions? I'm also getting a new deck and was looking into alpine, so why should i choose them over pioneer?

Realizing that alpine is better, does pioneer make a good deck?

Woah woah woah. I definetly think pioneer makes better decks. I have personal experience with BOTH, and have never used a better head unit than my old 9400. Alpines are nice, i just have like pioneer much more.

pioneers have better internal amps and are more flashy

alpine has a better sound processor imo.

so it depends on what you want, if you're just putting in a headunit, pioneer

if you want a clean system with an amp powering the speakers, alpine.
