Rule of thumb is turboing on non turbo engines will lead to expensive things breaking. They will break to, its not a matter of "if" but "when". Also while 3000gts look awesome, they are slow as ****, weight 4000 lbs, Insurance for a young male driver on them is around 2800 a year without collision, thats the same or more than cars like a mustang gt would be. Not saying your making a bad choice just letting you know some facts because i looked long and hard into getting a 3000gt before i got a eclipse. I love those cars but theyve just got so much going against them IMO.

if you get auto and a non VR4 you shouldn't be getting a 3000 gt.

True that Zubat.

Unless it's a VR4, it's far more work than what it's worth. If you're looking for a project car, go find an older 240SX and drop in a SR20DET. BAM! Instant American Silvia. You can find an old automatic 240SX and convert it to a manual Silvia (low milage too!) for around $12,000.

$12,000?! You can do it for much less than that. Try around $4k with BPU.

?? He can buy whtever the hell he wants. Even if he gets a "slow" one, they are relatively fast for an older stock car. Plus they look great.
