Well, i keep seeing newbs saying, "How do i take apart my phantom?" For many, they are visual learners, so, i had time, i was bored to death doing my chemistry paper, that i put together a pic filled phantom teardown and put together thread. Heres what i'm taking apart....
CCI Phantom VSC
Tools and parts needed:
3/8 allen key for the 12 gram changer
9/64 for the Breech
5/64 for the grips
a towel that is clean, but you don't care for
First, remove the barrel, and remove the detent ring and put it in a safe spot...
Next, loosen the two thumbscrews on the front and the back of the phantom
Next, slide the main body a bit, and hold onto the pump arm, the pump arm then will come loose, put it in a safe spot.
Now, remove the main body, off of the phantom.
As you can see, within the main body, there are a total of three pieces.
There is the spring, the Tuned port compensator (TPC) and the rear most, the hammer assmbly.
In order... TPC, Spring, Hammer assmbly
Close up of the TPC (This controls your velocity, clockwise= FPS+.
Slide the internals out and wipe them down with the towel and oil the black oring on the TPC.
Next, slide the internals back into the main body. With the TPC the black oring facing barrel side, and then followed by the spring and finally the hammer assembly.
Next, on the TPC there are two holes, One is occupied by the Nylon screw, this is what keeps the Velocity screw from backing out. And then you have is the pump hole. Attach the pump arm end to the pump guide hole.
Next, attach the barrel and hold the pump arm tightly in place.
