Sorry, I have been working on AutoCAD drawings for all the parts but the body. Not too sure how I would dimension the body with a caliper....

You'd need something like a laser scanner. That sort of thing costs a lot of $$.

oh can you send me the other cad drawings? I am trying to get a b2k4 together and then try to mod a few things and see how they would go. If you can e-mail me the drawings that would be great... gkolyagin@gmail.com if you can

I'll see what I can do. I'll have to make some revisions as most are of a conceptual nature. If you want something designed that there isn't an aftermarket product for (Bushmaster) then I can also design parts (Such as bolts, hammers, ram shafts etc..).

Might take me a few days. I usually do all my CAD designs at work during my lunch hour (I work at an Engineering/Surveying firm).

Are you able to use AutoCAD 2000 DWG/DXF files?

yea i can use the 2000 cad files. Thanks guys i am in the progress of making the body but i cant do the exact measurements but close enough. Right now i am doing the sideviews and then once i get all the other stock parts together i will start modding the parts and then try to custom make all my little designs in my metal shop class.

I have an Autocad drawing of a bushy, but it is no where near accurate. I work on it when I am bored of working on this house I have to do for the class.
I do have a question for Spitlebug though, since you are designing all of the internals, what do you use for a fillet radius for things such as edges of the valve?

I am assuming you are referring to the drill holes in the valve itself? The waste from using a drill to make the hole as opposed to a flat section you can get with a mill? I don't think it really matters.

But if I were to draw a valve I would use my caliper to measure the outside diameter of the valve in 3 places, take the average of that and divide by 2 to get your radius. Draw a circle to represent the outside diameter. Then I would measure the inner diameter of the valve, assuming that the center of the inner diameter is also the center of the outer diameter (measure just in case) and draw that in. I would then take a few measurements of the depth of the valve (typically 3 and then take the average) and draw that. Then measure the depth of the inner chamber (if the chamber on your valve is rounded from drilling take a few measurements) use the deepest and the shallowest as the arc length for the drill tip. Then I would measure any O-rings etc... that might be part of the valve.

I will draw up my stock valve tonight (Going to use my copy of AutoCAD 2005, which I don't like in comparison to AutoCAD 2000i). I'll put it up in PDF format tomorrow.

If you want a DWG/DXF of it put your email up here and I will send it to you.

Your talking abot fillet and chamfer right? Presonally it doesn't matter too much. Just make sure it's close and that the matching part has the same fillet and chamfer radius.
