Hey all, I just picked up a Gen-E Matrix from a friend and it has a Centerflag inline reg on it. The problem is I can't figure out how to remove the reg. I try to twist it and it just feels as though its locked on there. Is there a piece that I need to take out or something before it unscrews or...?

No it just unscrews.

what you have going on there is the infamous "stuck on" reg syndrome. This is very common to the older matricies. I have had several come my way like this . There is nothing secret keeping it in place, it's just threaded on too far and is seized in place. there are many ways to try and fix this but not all will work. I myself always start with a strap wrench. remember to wipe down the reg and the rubber band on the wrench with some type of cleaner or 50/50 mix of water /alcohol to remove all oils to promote non slippage...

others have also used heat. i don't because i fear damaging any annodizing..

If you honestly dont care if you damage the anno or nick up the reg then you can use the ol vice grip or channel lock's on it... IT WILL MAR THE SURFACE and look like hell later but it will get it off fast and hassle free.
