Yeah, I also have been using PowerDirector for years. Definately worth the money I think. It's a vast improvement over anything free and it's actually affordable. You can easily make due with an older version of PowerDirector too, making t even cheaper.
Until recently I had been using PD11. My PC crapped out so with a new one I pickef up the whole Director Suite 3 for under $50. Director suite is PowerDirector plus a photo shop knock off and some audio and color control programs as well.
