i use sony vegas pro 9 and adobe after effects....i personally prefer sony, but after effects allows you to do more things. However, it doesnt accept the file type my camera uploads to...so i have to convert to .avi...

ok Im having trouble cuz my program will only let me save my the video i make as a vf. file and nothing else...let me know if you guys have any idea's on how to fix it or a good free converter

filming as a mp4 file since the acvhd or whatever it is has no editing software do most programs take mp4?

Final Cut Pro X is pretty nice, it's almost as simple as iMovie (in my opinion), and it offers some great effects.

Adobe After Effects Cs5 is crazy, it has so many effects (Way more than FCPX), but it is just very hard to get used to until you mess around with the program for a while. . . just have to get used to where everything is and how you use certain effects basically

Sony Vegas works great with AVCHD codec. It's ready to edit right out of the camera.

Your os has nothing to do with it. Sony Vegas runs on vista or xp
