Vapor Valve Question

Just wonder if anyone in here has installed vapor valve in your BM2K. I have just received mine from Goldie today. Tried to install it but ran into a little issue. The new cup seal end is too large for the stock spring (the spring between the LPR and the cup seal) therefore it doesn't fit like the stock cup seal. This doesn't seem right. Not sure what to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Goldie - Any comments from you?

Same thing here, I just got mine 2 days ago. I just forced it on. I haven't gassed it up yet, but I'm pretty sure it should be ok.

Well, I was wrong. After reading this, I went back and pulled out my LPR. The spring didn't pop onto the cupseal like I thought it did. So I took a little Sandpaper, and took A LITTLE bit off of the top of it. Then I took a file and Smoothed it out. This made it just small enough that if I really pushed hard, and kinda turned the spring at the same time, I forced the damn thing on there.

I would try that. Cuz all the Cupseals are gona be the same size, they are Black Magic Cupseals.

The cupseal is supposed to fit snuggly on the spring. The seals came out to be a little bit bigger than original specs intented them to be. We've done a lot of testing and found that it didn't create any problems. If you wet the seal a little before you slide the spring on it should go on pretty easily. You will get a couple of coils over the seal, but it won't just slide in and out like the normal seal will. Once you assemble the gun and gas it up there should be no problem. As far as we can tell it's only a cosmetic issue that will be corrected on the next run. If we can't get a consisten sized cupseal then we'll start offering a slightly larger spring to compensate for that.

For those of you that have one already, just slide the spring on as far as you can and you'll be good to go. I've only been able to make them leak by doing 2 things. One was cranking down the retention screw too tightly and the other was taking the cupseal to a belt sander.

So give it a try and if it doesn't work, let me know.

A quick side note to that... cranking down on the retention screw doesn't make the valve itself leak... it compresses the valve body to the point that the air can leak around the outside of it. The cupseal is still sealing propperly when you get this type of leak.

So realy, there is only one way to make the cupseal leak
