Springs Vs Shim Kits

Why would I want to change my velocity using Spring/Shim kits instead of adjusting it on the reg? Which is a better mod, Shims or Springs? I have been doing research on aftermarket strikers for my TX...a spring kit mod is recomended. Any striker or bolt recomendations? Thanks guys

the shocktech tes bolt works flawlessly on the tx. i also prefere the shim kit as it alows you to make sure you can hit the chrono speeds you want with out going over 425psi. basicly the bigger the shim the stiffer it makes the main spring. I have mine set up to stay between 375-400psi to hit 293fps consitantly. for me it is just easier than matching springs. hope this helps
