Salem, Ore. – November 2, 2005 – The cast and crew of The Outdoor Channel’s new paintball television series “Inside Paintball” have formed a tournament paintball team that will travel to 3-player tournaments across the country for the remainder of 2005 and throughout 2006. “Team Inside Paintball” will kick its tour off November 19 and 20 at the season ending event of the 2005 Global Paintball League (GPL) at Del Hobbies Paintball Complex in Pedricktown, N.J.
The team will consist of the show’s two co-hosts, Shawn Walker and Tony D’Amico. Shawn is an advanced tournament player, while Tony experiences have been of the recreational level. They will be joined by rotating member of the “Inside Paintball” crew or the occasional guest player.
After the event in New Jersey, “Team Inside Paintball” is scheduled to play in tournaments in California at CAL Jam, December 9, and in Pennsylvania at the Skirmish Winter 3-Player, February 11, 2006.
Footage from all the events “Team Inside Paintball” plays in will be incorporated into future episodes of the television show. Some players on the team will wear a mask equipped with camera to offer a true “inside” perspective on one of the country’s fastest growing sports. “Inside Paintball” – which will begin airing in January 2006 on The Outdoor Channel – follows the network’s popular magazine-like format and offers viewers tournament highlights, new product demonstrations, game strategy tips and profiles of the teams and players.
In addition to following “Team Inside Paintball” at the GPL, the television show will have a full crew on location at the Del Hobbies Paintball Complex gathering footage from all divisions. Selected games will be fully commentated and the show will profile a few of the teams regularly competing in the GPL.
