New To Egos Guide And Faq

NEW TO EGOS GUIDE AND FAQ
(for non-owners and new owners)

What is an ego?
An ego is a ram driven popet marker much like intimidators, but do not mistake them for being timmy clones, they are manufactured to a higher quality and are superior in almost every aspect. The ego is one of the lightest guns on the market, and yes itís lighter than a shocker. The ego has an lcd based board but the trigger frame, contrary to belief, is not an e2 frame and will not work on cockers. The ego runs at a pressure of 300psi, which allows it to be one of the most air efficient guns on the market to date. The craftsmanship is second to none and the customer service eclipse provides is excellent. Bottom line, yes you should buy one now!

Tanks
The ego can use both low pressure and high pressure tanks. The only difference between the two when using an ego is the possibility of shoot down with a low quality low pressure tank. So a high pressure tank would be your best bet and is the most common air system used on an ego, but if you need to use a low pressure tank for various reasons make sure it is a name brand as they generally have the best recharge and prevent shoot down (ie crossfire, mac dev, etc). As for adjustable tanks you will want to set your tank at around 550-600psi if you are using it in conjunction with the stock regulator, if you are using a gas thru grip then 300-320psi will be the optimal pressure for the ego and adjust for velocity.

Lubricants
As far as lube is concerned if you use an oil on everything you should have no worries but for best performance two types of lubes would work best. One lube you will want is a synthetic paintball gun oil, such as gold cup, aka, or triflow, which will be used to lubricate the rammer and bolt. For the regulators you will want to use something with a viscosity closer to grease, such as slick honey, dye slick lube, shocker lube, pus. You will want to lubricate your rammer after every day of play, then your lpr every so often, and the inline reg. can last for a good month or two depending on use.
NEVER USE A THICK LUBE ON THE RAMMER, AS IT WILL CLOG THE QEVíS

THE CARDINAL RULE OF EGOS!
**DO NOT SCREW YOUR 2REAR GRIPS SCREWS IN TOO FAR**
(solution grind screws down a bit or place two of the very small o-rings provided around them to stop them from penetrating the solenoid, this problem is only made worse with hybrid grips because they are built very thin)
SECOND CARDINAL RULE...
READ THE MANUAL, IT KNOWS ALL!

If you are using a force feed loader (halo b, reloader b, q-loader) then turn your ball and empty both to 1. Do not mess with your egoís settings other than the bounce settings (that means dwell and your lpr) until you have put a good 10,000 rounds through it to break in the regulator. Once you have broken your ego in you will want to turn your lpr a couple of turns in and raise your dwell, see the tuning guide toward the end.

EGO FAQ
Q: Where is my serial number?
A: Take off your battery, you will find it under there

Q: Is the ego hard to maintain?
A: The ego is very easy to maintain and is a very reliable gun

Q: What efficiency can I expect from an ego?
A: The ego is extremely efficient, you can expect to get close to a case of a good 68/4500 fill after being broken in

Q: How is the consistency?
A: After being broken in +-2fps is the norm for a good paint to barrel match

Q: Does the ego have an e2 frame
A: The ego has its own frame, it is nothing like an e2 frame in any respect

Q: What is the stock shaft bore size?
A: All egos come with a .693 bore

Q: What operating and recocking pressure does the ego have?
A: The ego has an operating pressure of about 320psi and a recocking pressure around 100psi

Q: How do the shims in the hpr go?
A: There are 16 of them )()()()()()()()(

I was wondering if the star frame adds anything to the gun, besides comfort and bad *** looks?? I am looking to sell my FS7 and get an ego, but I want to learn everything possible before I do.

yeah bro socom 3 is sick. You gotta get it. Gotta play single player to get the good guns and suites though Dman your all about gettin your stickies l8tly huh

the star frame allows you to use a spring or a mag. or both. It also has the star trigger and a larger frame for more room to walk the trigger, built in snatch grip and rail.
